I have went into the waiting room on numerous occasions and have found the staff and the food to be great. Unfortunately today it was very poor, went in to meet a friend and ordered a light lunch. My soup came out and ten minutes later my friends baked potato followed, which was a bit dried up salad with cream cheese and spring onions. I asked the waitress to swap this for normal grated cheese and was greeted with a poor manner wondering why on earth I would request this and hesitantly returned it to the kitchen. It came back out having been the baked potato from before which was now cold and had remnants of the cream cheese still on it. Very poor service today and staff members attitude left a lot to be desired. Won't be popping in for lunch...
Read moreThe Waiting Room used to be my regular haunt when I stayed in the Oxgangs area of Edinburgh, partly because it's a great pub and partly because Oxgangs lacks just that. The food was generally very good, a step or two up over average chain pub fare. The seating is comfortable and the pitchers of cocktails lethal.
