Great, until there’s an issue! Disgusting attitude from the young Spanish and Scottish assistants! They were lovely when I first went in, I’d agreed two colours, and maybe foolishly I thought the girl had picked up the pink shade we’d agreed on, it she hadn’t. My friend went back and i was literally called a liar over the phone, my friend was treated badly, the Scottish girl started talking down to me on the phone as if I was a child! I was going to go back for more items but never again, they need to learn to lose the attitude and accept some responsibility, instead of acting like they never make mistakes. Avoid Update- I was NOT offered a refund nor took one! I only wanted an exchange, which they refused at first, not before implying I was a liar! She only exchanged after a heated conversation and I was as I scolded like a child, by a child. There was no muffled sound, I was on speaker phone in an office and several people commented on her terrible attitude. The owner seems to condone...
Read moreIt's a good Art Shop if you don't look for anything to out of a standard range. Last time I was there the watercolor paper choice only reached from Daler Rowney to the Langton, with maybe a few Windsor & Newton, or Bockingford pads here and there. So if you're looking for Canson, Fabriano or Hahnenmühle pads you will not necessary find much. They got a few Copic, Pitt and W&N marker as well as Fineliner from various brands. In terms of paint I could mostly just spot W&N as the main brand.
I feel this shop is having so much potential and it's good to have a look around since it's not entirely organised and random finds got their charms. But what makes me sad is that there is not much to find in terms on brands that are more advanced or a bit out of the standard.
I hope this shop manages to get a more interesting selection, because I feel with every visit it's getting a bit...
Read morePopped in yesterday for a selection of boards and sugar paper, variety is amazing and the prices are brilliant too. Staff are friendly and really informative, quickly solving my terms mix up with cartridge paper vs shirt card. It's been a long time since I picked up a paintbrush! If you're going to do the same, make sure this is your absolutely first stop for supplies.🖌️
Luckily on my visit there was some parking outside too - being a van driver it is invaluable for a legit space. Whilst that has nothing to do with the place or the review, it was reassuring that the staff knew their papers so I could make a speedy exit! Thanks guys! 😍
Will be back. Probably next week for more grey board. Best art place in Edinburgh, don't even bother with the chains (who don't know the difference between a Sharpie and a Biro 🤦♂️)
It's even open on...
