I was visiting from NYC and as I was heading out for a day of sightseeing, I wandered by this place, scoped the menu, saw they had haggis and went for it. I'm a very adventurous eater, but had yet to try haggis. The night before I was in a pub and when I told the bartender that I wanted to try it, he asked me how I like it, and apparently I like it exactly they way SEVEN serves it. This is a quaint little spot, very cozy, and if you can grab a window seat, it's a nice busy street, perfect for people watching. I ordered the House Breakfast which was a great substantial meal for one person, and it had haggis. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was delicious. In NYC we have diners on every corner, and on...rougher mornings, sometimes I need some good old corned beef hash to help the recovery efforts of the night before, and this haggis had a very similar flavor to that. A bit spicy. Perfect with the soft fried egg. Not too heavy. It was delicious. Service was great and fast and I highly recommend if you need a quick bite on the way...

Yummy food, but tiny portion/ too expensive- got the vegan breakfast to take away for £12.50 and as tasty as the food was, the portions were SO tiny; got 3 tiny matchsticks of sweet potato, 1 mushroom, about 4 cherry tomatoes, a quarter of an avocado, a tablespoon of baba ganoush and a slice of vegan haggis, and about 5 leaves of cooked spinach. Considering this was £12.50 I did not find it good value for money, and having worked in kitchens I know much of the ingredients are cheap to buy. I'd recommend bulking up the breakfast with the cheaper ingredients, like the sweet potatoes and spinach.

If money isn't an issue for you I recommend this place, the food was still tasty. Also a plus that they offer a...

Horrible experience visiting cafe in the city ever. They have a truly disappointing approach to customer service. In my experience, the staff was dismissive, lacked understanding, and even came across as insulting. No matter how good the food may be, the absence of basic respect and service mindset completely ruins the experience. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit a hospitality venue where customers are treated this poorly.

-The staff was extremely rude and uncommunicative. Instead of speaking politely, she kept insulting me until I couldn’t bear it anymore and had to leave the shop. This is not the manner or way of speaking that anyone in hospitality should have. Very...

A favourite place for breakfast, what’s great about it is the consistency of quality and flavour. Some weeks I go into the same place and whether it’s the chef or the ingredients, the quality of the same dish can be different every week, which is annoying. Seven is always guaranteed great on both fronts. Plus, while located in Edinburgh it’s not charging Edinburgh prices, 3 coffees, two breakfasts, which includes a smoothie, a portion of sourdough toast and jam, and avocado, egg, toast and a side salad, £19. My only quibble is the temperature. It’s pretty Baltic in there, one plug in heater just doesn’t cut it. So wear a warm jumper or cardigan or prepare to keep your hat and jacket on.

We recently had the pleasure of discovering this gem in Edingburgh which then ended up being our local cafe for the 3days we stayed. The owners are so lovely, they really take care of you. The food is AMAZING! I had the vegan breakfast (the vegan haggis! I forgot to ask for the recipe before I left ☹️) and hubby had the normal breakfast with meat haggis and both were amazing!!! Not much options for kids so they ended up having the salmon pasta which was also so delicious 🤤. The cakes they sell are also handmade. Would recommend the Banana and the salted caramel 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND visiting when in Edingburgh.

I tried the vegetable soup, and it was amazing! It was a deliciously blended mix of carrot and broccoli, full of flavor and warmth. The soup was served with sourdough bread and butter, which were also fantastic. The café has a quaint, chill vibe that's perfect for relaxing, and the waitresses were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Also unlike other restaurants, they don't pressure you to pay for service charge. Overall, a delightful experience that I highly recommend!
