WOW,WOW,WOW!!!!
Absolutely outstanding venue and staff! What a team you all are. When we first met Kirstie and viewed the O2 I knew it was the perfect venue to host our centenary event. The space, venue, lighting, sound, disabled access was simply perfect. Kirstie is an asset to the 02 and extremely helpful and accommodating with our needs. The way the 02 work with Saltire catering is outstanding and they piece together perfectly. Food, service, bar staff, waiting staff could not have been any better, they work together professionally delivering 5 star results.
On the day we could not have asked for anymore. To work with skilled talented staff from the 02 and Saltire made the whole event run like clock work.
Ricky... you are absolutely amazing and extremely helpful.
Kristian: (Sound) The sound was phenomenal and you certainly go above and beyond. A true professional!
Mark: (Lighting) Extremely talented being able to match the lighting to our brand. Your attention to detail and design adapting the strobe lighting to accommodate the people we support, greatly appreciated. Amazing!
Liam: Excellent Manager on the night, fully briefed and attentive the whole evening.
Hannah and Eve: You are both wonderful and thank you for always being there on the night.
Medics: A huge thank you for your hard work on the night, very professional.
A big thank you to all the bar staff and everyone else involved.. We are all so grateful for everyone's hard work and making our centenary event a night to remember forever.
Everyone helped in making so many magical memories.
We wish we could do...
Read moreI suffer severe anxiety to the point I'd rarely left my house in 4 years but Paolo Nutini gave me something to aim for. It was at the O2 Academy in the old corn exchange in Edinburgh. I only had a brain wave the day previous as I have osteoarthritis and as the day was becoming closer I was getting so anxious I was thinking of just not going. So I emailed the customer care team there to ask for help as I didn't know what help, if any was available (I've since found out I could've booked disabled etc). I half expected either no reply or a harsh 'tough' reply. But no, they couldn't do enough to help and really did go above and beyond. I was really taken care of. The only criticism I have and is not something O2 can really do so much about... the 'disabled' queue skippers could barely move and had the fake pain look on their faces on arrival outside but my goodness when they got in before the rest of the queue, they couldn't half move, they could've gave Usain Bolt a run for his money and on sticks etc. As I say its not so much an o2 problem as an individual integrity problem which could waste things for genuine disabled fans. As for the "O2 angels" they are aptly named. From admin staff to staff on the night. I did notice though that some had their favourite obviously "regulars" whom they handed setlists from the stage to. I did ask and was ignored. But it didn't ruin my impression of the staff and their care. I'd recommend it to anyone who has any worries about crowds or disabilities. Thank you to...
Read moreSaw Faithless. Got off to a good start with the welcome prior to taking our seats in the accessible seating area but it went down hill.
The accessible area was a shambles! We were meant to be upstairs in the balcony. When we got there we were told there were no seats in the balcony, so had to use the raised platform at the back, which was fine, except they said only I could enter and not my companion. The companion was to stand at the side or front of the platform but what use is that? A companion may not just be accompanying but may be an absolutely necessary companion to support the person. The staff relented but said my companion may need to leave if it got busy!!! No use at all.
The accessible platform space was far too small for the amount of people in it. 2 rows and not enough room to walk between them unless going sideways. Fine if you’re able bodied but there was a big guy with crutches who was trying to walk sideways with his crutches to get out. And THEN someone came in with a wheelchair just as Faithless came on, and all the seats in the back row had to be folded down to get this man in! He was then trapped in the corner of the platform until the end as there was no way of him getting out unless everyone stood up and folded away their seats again. Pretty sure it didn’t comply with Health & Safety evacuation plans. Folk were complaining and moving seats and leaving early.
The experience spolied the night. I doubt I'll be visiting...
