Awful! The worst Gregg's I've ever been in. Not once did I see a single member of staff smile (was in the premises for approximately 30 minutes). Didn't visit a WC so I can't comment. I assume since you can sit in, that there are toilet facilities on the premises. The sun was shining in the premises, which made it more appealing to eat inside. There are a couple of tables. There's napkins and sugar etc, but no cutlery at all. I felt myself shrink, as I thanked the sales assistant for my change (monies). No reply. I felt like an inconvenience. Evidently the staff did not want to be there. I saw three members of staff and they all looked miserable. The staff were unhelpful. Muttering so you can't hear, whether they've got steak bakes or not? so the assistant at the til then announces a quantity of money and puts their hand out and gives you expressionless glance. Why is it the customers fault that the staff can't effectively communicate with the customer or clearly between themselves? I sat in to eat. It was blatantly obvious the staff morale was poor. It made the atmosphere uncomfortable and actually quite difficult to enjoy the food. It's a soul sucking job, it was my first place of paid employment (different location, still Gregg's ). I called to enquire about the problem and the manager (Liz) was absolutely lovely and explained there was trainee in today, which of course I can forgive as everyone starts somewhere! She took my name and told me the next breakfast rolls would be at a discounted price. That piece of communication is key and helped an underwhelmed customer understand the situation.
Liz is a credit to the company! Very kind and respectful! Never had anything go wrong until today, but even this little hiccup was put right immediately and she made me feel like a respected member of the chesser/gorgie community! We all make mistakes, but the way we rectify those mistakes is what makes the difference and these guys were absolutely fantastic in dealing with the situation and that’s what matters.

Read moreOrdered a delivery at 7.35am for it to take till 9.49am to arrive, stone cold and missing 2 breakfast rolls altogether. No apology from the driver, instead he moaned about having to be up early. Rang the shop to speak to some lady who just abandoned the call to hand it over to someone else without saying anything and then a half attempt at an apology made by the 2nd staff member and told to take it up with just eat.
