This is part of the Heights of Abraham attraction - we found a discount by buying the ticket online and using public transport (show your bus/train ticket at the entrance with your pre-booked QR code). We have visited a couple of times before over the years. The cave tour is informative, helping you to understand the geological and social change that took place during the Industrial Revolution, Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian periods. The clothing exhibit highlights this social change.
It seems expensive (£28.50) for what is a very small site, with steep gradients and limited activities (which the tour hosts allude to).
It was spotlessly clean on our visit. There is an extensive children's play area. The cable car is the stand-out feature, with the stunning scenery as a backdrop. The view is spectacular, especially when you have climbed the tower.
We had a relaxed time, but sadly, it seems the 2023 inflation and cost of living crisis has pushed prices for many attractions like this to a point where you question its value (6 Adults = £171), hence our...
Read moreThis was the perfect activity for the end of out day! It was fun very informative and beautiful sight. God's creation is truly beautiful! We had the loveliest tour guide for the cave! Huge shoutout to Sophie loved the pink hair and loved how you explained everything to us and answered our questions. We were on the last tour of the day but you wouldn't really know they didn't rush us were so helpful and polite and friendly really contributed to the experience. I would definitely go back and would highly recommend!! Thanks again
Only negative we tried to call multiple times (abraham heights) as on the answering machine Said last entry was at half 4 and we were rushing to get there but had anyone answered we would have been told it didn't close at half 4 but at 6 we were close to not going as we thought we wouldn't make it due to closing. Glad we risked it but I think better attention to...
Read moreExcellent cavern tours, our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and we loved every second of it! The cavern tour is included in the price of your cable car ticket and lasts about 40 minutes; you don't need to book a tour, they run often enough throughout the day but be warned, there are about 159 steps altogether within the cave (but not all at once!) and some of the passages can be a bit narrow, steep and a bit slippery, so wear sensible footwear. For those unable to cope with the number of steps or the steepness, there is a video tour of the cave that you can watch, the guide will give you more info about this at the start of the tour. The temperature within the cave is about 7° so you might need a fleece or jacket but it's all worth the experience to see how these caves were mined and used since the Great Fire of London and especially in the Victorian era. A great way to spend...
