Route 66 Matlock Bath — Restaurant in Derbyshire Dales

After we had a nice walk,few games at the arcades we have stopped to have some fish and chips, myself, my partner and my 2 children.I have placed the order around 20.20 and as there were not any tables to sit available outside we went to seat at a table inside but a member of staff told us that we can't because they were cleaning. We stood up inside waiting for the order to be ready and same member of staff told us that we have to wait outside while she was brushing the floor. Then my 4 year old son needed to go to the toilet and I was told that he can not use the toilet because they have put bleach in it and that they closed the toilet at 20.30 anyways.I have told them that we are paying customers and that the shop is advertised at being open till 21.00,hence the dining inside and most important, my 4 year old using the toilet should have not been an issue. They did not let the little one use the toilet, my partner had to take him for a wee in the bushes .They ruined our evening, absolutely disgusting. The fish was ok but...I actually wanted to cancel thevorder and get a refund but probably that would have caused a bog argument besides I wanted my children to have some food before driving back home, an hour away.Tomorrow I will put a formal complaint with the local council. This is my first ever review and it will be my first formal complaint...

This chip shop is a must! Wonder fresh cooked chips and fish, if we lived in matlock area this would be one of our best chip shops we would eat at. Even my daughter who doesn't like fish unless it tastes really fresh and she loved it. Staff very helpful and understanding and polite. They couldn't do enough to help us, Very clean too. I had a small (mini fish) and it was big enough to feed two of me, my mum had the same and she couldn't eat all her fish. We will definitely eat here again and I have told my sisters to eat here when and if they ever visit matlock bath or matlock. Thank you for the lovely...

On visiting Matlock bath, this restaurant route 66 is our very first stop on reaching Matlock bath as we know theres not another fish shop to compare with this one. The food is always hot, serves with a smile. The staff are always so polite and welcoming. I would like to say a big thank you to Lela, jade and Gazi. On our many visits we feel we have made wonderful friends. Now that spring has sprung this will be out twice weekly restaurant we will be visiting.
