We visited this restaurant yesterday as a group of five. 4 of us ordered the fish and chips (£20 per portion) expecting something decent at that price. Instead, we were served bland, below-average fish — disappointing, but we finished our meals and went about our day.
Unfortunately, the real issue began later that night and into the early hours. I woke up with severe nausea and ended up by the toilet. At first, I thought I was just unlucky, but soon discovered the other 3 friends who also had the fish and chips were suffering the same symptoms. The only person who wasn’t sick was my partner, who had the steak pie.
The only logical conclusion is that the fish and chips caused food poisoning for the 4 of us, with that being the only meal we shared the whole day. At £20 a portion, there is absolutely no excuse for serving spoiled fish.
I would strongly recommend avoiding this place altogether. Judging by how many people seemed to be eating their own food, you’re better off packing a picnic — unless you want to spend the next day...
Read moreMe and my family went there for lunch and had already made a reservation in advance. They asked us if we wanted to sit inside or outside and we were happy with outside seating. We got sat and then came time to order we ordered our food. About 20minutes later our starters came out and we had finished those then they took our dishes back. The food was all home made and good portion sizes but the kids menu options all come with chips on the side this wasn't stated on the menu so we ordered more chips and ended up with extra chips. I got the pasta but it was soft and mushy and the sauce was really watery. The service wasn't the greatest, most of the workers were just walking around not bothered people were waiting for them but there was this one lady called Bethan who was the most hardworking one of them all she was literally running around to do things for people and make sure everyone had what they needed and made our visit just that much better. One thing i was say is that it was quite expensive. But overall...
Read moreThe clan came up in the cable cars and we had a reservation booked here yet nothing seemed reserved and it felt very impulsive with the staff. We were shown to some tables but it was very crowded inside and we requested another spot so got seated outside, thankfully it was a nice enough day. Once the order was in place the food took a while to come out and it came out staggered so some had to wait longer for their food. The food itself wasn't anything to write home about. All the pasta dishes were over cooked and were soft and mushy. Yet I liked the nachos as they were freshly fried even though they were a little over done. It's really the only place for food up here but the town isn't fair off. Yet I guess the location means they can get away with a lot more laxity. It's pretty pricey for what you get but I think on a quieter day the food would be better prepared. Hope you have a better experience than...
