You could literally spend a whole day here. Since it was near Halloween they had some Halloween themes like ghost tour (she made it fun and gadged the audiance how scary she could be) which I hought was very good customer service and meeting the Grimme Reaper. Unfortunately he was quiet and couldn't really hear him properly. The staff were all very infotmative. Howeve,r felt they were pushed to sell you member tickets. The war tunnels was very fascinating and interesting. I learnt quiet a lot after visiting this place.

Of the three sets of the tunnels that you can go around, these are the only set which are not part of a guided tour and you can explore at your own leisure. Plenty to see here and the tunnels are quite maze like at the lower levels. Well worth checking out.

Super fantastic. There's a lot to explore within Castle grounds which is part of castle as well and these Medieval Tunnels one of them. Really enjoyed the medieval tunnels and they kept it as it is with cannons display.

Dover Castle’s tunnels started life as a shelter for troops during the Napoleonic Wars. Being so close to France made Dover a major target for Napoleon, so the castle was strengthened with new artillery in 1803. But there was nowhere to put the 2000 men they needed to man the guns, so they built the tunnels to house them. Napoleon never invaded so the tunnels were abandoned until 1938, when they were used first as an air raid shelter before becoming a military...

Lots to see and lots to learn about medieval times and the castle and the use of the castle during war times. Visiting the tunnels is a must! Stunning views. Nice restaurant for teas,...
