Marine Court Table Table — Restaurant in Dover

Definitely never coming here again. So I've been here once before and I thought it was slow and a bit tired in decor but was okay. But this time was one of the worst experiences I've ever had dining. We got there for our 6pm booking, myself, my partner, our 2 month old baby and our 5 year old. Straight away we were waiting to be seated for over 10 minutes. All staff were at the bar or just ignoring us. Eventually a waiter came over, looked confused and said he had to check something then walked off. A different waiter then came over and finally seated us. He promptly took our order and we waited. We waited for an hour and 10 minutes before asking if there was a problem with our food. And the waiter informed us they were "dropping it now", so our food had not even been cooked yet. We were imminently about to ask for the bill for our drinks and leave when our food arrived after an hour and 45 minutes. 7:45pm we finally got to eat. By that time my 5 year old was irritable and upset, my 2 month old needed to be fed again (I did it on arrival but babies need to be fed every 1-2 hours) and was crying and myself and my partner were starving and angry. Our first meal at a restaurant in 7 months due to covid, our first meal as a family and this restaurant completely ruined our evening. The staff were only apologetic when we were paying but honestly a nearly 2 hour wait for food is completely unacceptable. They seemed to focused on getting everyone drinks from the bar rather than serving food. Additionally we were sat by 2 tables with drunk people, which is not family friendly. Overall, I would not go again. The only positive thing about this place is the view...

Don't bother. Support a local independent instead. Scenario is, they are running light on bookings so they send you a 40% voucher. Tempting but they don't then order enough stock to cater for the inevitable influx of diners! So there we all are, the whole family 4pm ready for Sunday roast and we're told that there isn't any left! This is 2 hours before Sunday roast service is due to finish. It's not the 1st time either but it will most definitely be the last for us. The saving you make by using their voucher just isn't worth the crap that you get in this place. In the absence of a roast I ordered steak & ale pie with mash & peas as this was the closest meal to what I was hoping for. Tiny portion of horrible microwave mash and a nuked pie was the reward for our custom! The main problem I have though is that once they've got you there, they can safely tell you that they've run out of the main Sunday food in the knowledge that you will pretty much HAVE to order something else as its too late to go elsewhere. My point is, they can plainly see that a family is booked in at Sunday roast o clock....they've got your number...it'd be courteous to call and inform people that they've likely run out of the very meal that you booked for but they don't. They wait for you turn up & then they've got you. Rubbish food, horrible faceless corporation. As I say, spend another 20 quid and support an independent pub that will actually appreciate you...

The waitress wasn't very friendly (tall slim lady). Upon ordering a nibble between two (which was the new item on the menu, burger without bun on chips with cheese and girkin), she proceeded to question, "you want only that?" in a dry, disappointing manner. She brings our cocktails, and then nothing for a good 35 mins. We asked after 25 mins for an update, she was like it's 1 min. Then we had to ask a 2nd member of staff (who had just started her shift) to pursue this, and it turned out the order wasn't even placed in the kitchen. So we got the nod for another "3 mins". By this time, we were just eager to leave as we were time constraint. So I asked it to be cancelled. However, the food arrived.... With a single patte of burger chopped on the chips (we had ordered the double) and not a single piece of girkin.....instead, there was some bits of lettus! Only reason for not giving a 1 star, was the helpful staff member who took ovet the issue with actually helping. She apologised and didn't charge us for the drinks either as it was clear so many things had failed with a simple, single order. I'd like management to pay attention to the fact, the tall slim staff member, not only did not apologise or even acknowledge the issue, on our way out she had the audacity to loudly say "BYE THEN!" in a rude,...
