Ingoldmells Beach in Skegness, a locale that promises the quintessential seaside experience, unfortunately falls short in several respects. While the allure of the beach should lie in its pristine sands and inviting waves, the reality is rather disappointing.
The cleanliness of Ingoldmells Beach leaves much to be desired. Strolling along the shoreline, one cannot help but notice the abundance of litter strewn across the sand. It's a disheartening sight, as plastic wrappers, cans, and other debris mar the natural beauty of the beach. The state of the sand itself is less than ideal, with dirty patches that detract from the overall appeal. It’s a stark reminder that more effort is needed to maintain and protect such public spaces.
A visit to Ingoldmells Beach requires careful planning around the whims of British weather. To truly enjoy what the beach has to offer, a good summer’s day is essential. The unpredictable nature of the UK's climate means that what could start as a sunny escapade might quickly turn into a dampened affair. Without the warm rays of the sun, the beach's charm diminishes significantly, making it far less inviting.
In essence, while Ingoldmells Beach holds potential with its expansive shoreline and the promise of traditional seaside fun, its current state is a letdown. The lack of cleanliness and the reliance on favorable weather conditions make it a less than ideal destination for a spontaneous day out. For those willing to venture there, a bright, sunny day is a must, and even then, one must navigate the unfortunate reality of littered sands. Here’s hoping for improvements that can restore this beach to its...
Read moreThis is a stunning, wide beach that stretches for miles — perfect for long walks, enjoying the fresh sea air, and taking in the natural beauty. It’s very clean and popular with both visitors and dog walkers, yet it somehow never feels crowded, even during peak times and in good weather.
There’s a ramp leading up to the beach, but unfortunately, the beach itself doesn’t have built-in wheelchair accessibility. That said, just off the promenade, there’s a small stall run by a charity that offers beach-adapted wheelchairs and equipment for free, designed to support people with different physical abilities. It’s a fantastic service, although in not sure on opening times.
One of the highlights is the concrete (a bit sandy at places) promenade which runs on the back of the beach all along, which you can follow all the way to Skegness, and the other way past ingoldmells — a flat, scenic route I highly recommend. Whether you’re after peace and quiet, a dog-friendly stroll, or just a clean, spacious spot to relax, this beach...
Read moreI must have come at a bad time, as the other reviews quite often mention "clean beach".... im not sure what part they were looking at but.... Today it was far from clean. Quite a few bits of litter and a massive pile on one side of the beach to the right around the corner.. broken glass on the floor too.... To the left ( as entering from the road ) the beach is OK if you don't get close to the sea. The sea is currently dirty with brown frothy foam. Certainly not water I'd advise anyone to go in, definitely not children.. There are signs about no dogs until 1st October on the beach at some entrances. To be clear this means the whole large section until you reach the next brick point that sticks out to the left. .there is a walk way to get to this area, and it takes around 10-15 minutes to walk. This next area dogs are allowed on. Not many car parks near the actual beach, but if you don't mind walking 10 minutes Fantasy Island Car park is down the road and right next to the...
