The Oasis Bar — Restaurant in East Lindsey

Came here for my birthday meal as me and my boyfriend came on a coach trip for the day as it’s my 20th birthday. He ordered the pasta which came with a tomato sauce. Cheese and garlic bread was extra making it nearly £15 for a cheep microwaved small bowl of pasta!! I ordered the fish and chips as it said on the menu the fish was locally sourced. I assume by locally sourced they mean the local freezer shop as you could tell just by looking at it the fish was not fresh. The chips were cheap and tasteless. As a seaside destination it is not hard to get fish fresh along with serving hand cut chippy chips. Service was fine wasn’t the best but wasn’t the worst but I feel for the destination this bar is in standards need to be much higher. We have been quite a bit over the last few years and you do get your good and bad days. This year we have had a lovely year. The bartenders are great, they do try to engage you if your friendly (any one that has worked in hospitality or retail like myself knows if customers are friendly you do try with them, if they are rude you give them the bare minimum). I got the chicken ceasar salad, it was amazing loads of chicken which I didn't expect, good amount of cheese, plenty of lettuce and croutons. My relative got a beef baguette with chips and couldn't finish it all, they said the beef was the best they had had out in a while as we normally just have roast beef at home. Massively gone down hill this place has. Come every year because we have a caravan close by but won't come in here again. Nice for a drink but don't bother with anything cooked off the menu. Sandwiches are fine. We ordered a crispy chicken which came out plain, we took it back and got told it's a miss print on the menu! So.....why not mention that when we ordered?
