Lovingly cared for by volunteers, kept scrupulously clean everywhere, Jubliee Park is definately going to be the place where family traditions are forged and golden memories are made. We were day visitors, although there is a camping & caravan park there with excellent facilities. Again all kept very clean and tidy. We were there enjoying the outdoor pool facility, myself, two older teens and my younger daughter. It is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the rules and regulations before coming so that you can come prepared. Young children cannot be left to amuse themselves, even if they are quite capable in your eyes, even if they stay in the shallow end. The lifeguards are not childminders. They cannot be responsible for your child and will not hesitate to sternly tell you so. Children must be accompanied in the pool, especially if they cannot swim, or swim strongly. So come prepared to join in and have family fun together! Bring a friend so that all eventualities are covered. The pool is like slipping into warm velvet! So warm! With the wide solid sturdy steps, entering and exiting the pool is easily negotiated. However... Getting out can be very chilly, so dont be shy about bringing a good thick robe to wrap up in! The pool starts shallow and then slants down deep at the furthest end. There is also a shallow baby pool which is also heated. If you havent brought a picnic with you, not to worry! There is a pool side cafe with a simple but delicious menu. Hot & cold drinks, burgers, bacon rolls, sausage rolls, crisps ect... All reasonably priced and all profits are poured back into maintaining the incredibly high standards at the pool. There is a designated smoking area within the premises, sectioned off in an area near the entry point. Be prepared to take shifts having a ciggy though. If staff see unsupervised younger children in the pool, even the baby pool, they will sternly request them to exit the pool and to find their parents. I did witness this whilst there. Too many times. Jubilee Park is set in beautiful unspoiled countryside. Staff are friendly, polite and firm about upholding their safety guidlines and rules. We had a little emergency on the day and the staff could not do enough to help us. They were wonderful. They want everyone to enjoy their beloved park and have a good time. There main wish though is for everyone to stay safe. They work tirelessly to make sure this happens. We highly recommend putting Jubilee Park on your 'to do' list for 2019! All rules and guidelines, information on pool depths and disabled access is available on the Jubilee...
Read moreThis was our second visit the first one was lovely and I would have given 5 stars for 1st visit. However this time was dreadful far too many people were packed into the swimming pools area. There was nowhere to lay down a picnic rug it was so full. In the end we found a small space which unfortunately was next to the smoking area!! Not ideal with 2 small children but no other space. We took the children into the small pool but it was so packed we felt it unsafe for our little ones so went back to our picnic space to eat. It was absolutely alive with wasps, I know the staff canât do anything about the wasps but they were everywhere, literally crawling over our children!!! They got inside our bags and was covering our food! Needless to say we had to leave. Including 2 pairs of arm bands it cost over ÂŁ37 for 3 adults and 2 small children to use the swimming pool area for less than 20 minutes!! Thatâs as long as we could stick it out. On our way out we complained to the lady on reception that weâd paid costly to swim but both pools were far too packed to use, only to be told they werenât yet running to capacity!!!! If thatâs the case I would hate to be there when it is. The worst part of our âdayâ out was the fact that the lady on the reception couldnât have cared less that that we felt upset. The only reason we gave 2 stars instead of one is the fact our first visit which was in term time was really lovely. The park has lots of good facilities including well kept gardens, tennis &...
Read moreWould not recommend, great site, well looked after and clean but the wardens and endless amount of pointless rules ruined our holiday, we've been camping and caravanning for 10 years and never experienced a site as strict, they actually came to us and said our music was inappropriate and noone else wants to hear it, ( it was a nursery rhyme for our 1 year old that was struggling to settle at 8:30), we are not a stag do we are a family, quiet time at 10 is fine for us but we didn't know it meant sitting in silence. The pool rules are even worse, our 9 and 10 year olds had to have a swim test which was fine, both have had regular swimming lessons from the age of 5, they had to swim the length of the pool without touching the side which was also fine and they both did, but one passed and the other didn't, when I asked why the lifeguard said she struggled, so one of our kids could go in any part of the pool fine the other had to have an adult with her at all times and wasn't allowed to leave the shallow end at all, even with me, so we paid £50 to sit in the shallow end of the pool, she wasn't even allowed in the splash pool which is a foot deep, once again ruined by over the top supid rules. Take my advice and don't book unless you like being talked to like you're 5 and sitting in silence. If I visit again it would be with a gun to my head, not worth the Hassel off the power mad and frankly...
