Much better options nearby. We couldn't find anywhere with space on a bank holiday Monday, this cafe however had plenty of tables, should have raised an eyebrow. There were more staff than tables but not a competent one in sight. We sat, we ordered, (I actually didnt order anything personally as the smell of a dirty deep fat fryer hung in the air and put me off) the drinks arrived (over priced but I hadn't paid attention) food is worryingly cheap (pork and apple burger (£2.50). 15 mins after we ordered, another table ordered, 25 mins later, they had their food (similar to our order) but ours was nowhere to be seen. I approached the waitress who took our order who gormlessly looked at me like she had no idea who I was and starred around the room as if to figure out what table I was from.... this cafe only has 6 tables and only two were occupied. I asked a marginally more competent waitress where our food was and she said "in the pan, cooking" she offered no explanation to why we were waiting and later tables had had cooked food delivered, I lost patience with them so settled for the drinks bill...

During a medical incident whereby one of our party who lives with Type 1 Diabetes, and was showing signs of a hypoglycaemic attack, requiring intervention; we sought assistance at The Mall Pub & Kitchen opposite, whereby we were turned away and told that they could not accommodate any assistance; we then noticed Little Dorrits cafe across the road.

If it were not for this fantastic service, we could have had a very serious medical incident requiring an ambulance and hospital admission.
The staff at Little Dorrits were brilliant, and couldn't do enough to help us during what can be a worrying incident. Plus the...

Bargain price of £6.50 for a full English breakfast. Plus many other options to choose from i.e. burger and chips for £4.50 and hot & cold drinks for £2.
The only negative is it really did smell of cooking oil in there and now all my clothes smell, plus when we first walked in the area was very smoky. It was a cold day so perhaps they would have the door cracked or open in the summer to prevent this, but could do with looking into an extractor fan and/or having a door to the kitchen to stop the smells coming through. The walls by our table could do with a clean and my seats had a few stains and crumbs before I sat on it.
There is a car park opposite where you can park for 2 hours free, plenty enough time to have lunch here then take a short walk up the high street....
