Nicholas Everitt Park at Oulton Broad is undoubtedly one of the most wonderful places to have fun, relax and experience the Riverside Park, Attractions, Green & Broads Magical waterway for all of all ages and abilities! Nicholas Everitt Park is a magnificent Riverside Park with a range of excellent amenities featuring a marina, amusement Park, Play Area, Gardens, Reeds, Flower Beds, Attractions, Boating Lake, Cafés, Band Stand, Leisure Facilities, Tennis Courts, Bowling Green, a Musuem in a Grade II Listed Building dating back to 1685! The Park has been bestowed an incredible artwork "We're all in the same boat" by the mysteriously elusive Street Artist Banksy! Banksy Artwork has amplified the magnitude of the Nicholas Everitt Park! It is also a very well-known open venue for many festivals and sports events. Nicholas Everitt is the oldest motorboat racing venue in the World! You can hire a boat to wander around the marina, River and waterways across the Broads National Park - Britain's largest protected wetland and third largest inland waterway. Two massive car parks - The Boulevard and The Crescent - make it easier access to this magnificent Riverside Park! There are plenty of toilets 🚻 ♿ 🚽 including disabled toilets and baby changing areas! Access to the park is very much accessible for visitors with mobility restrictions, wheelchair, mobility scooters and pushchairs! Large Green Space and plenty of benches facing the Broads Waterway are the perfect place for having a picnic, a quite sit down, or blissful moment on the backdrop of the picturesque landscape! Children's Play Area and Amusement Park are great attractions for children and families! While children's Play Area is free for all, Amusement Park is chargeable. Not to mention the Cafés, Icecream Kiosks, Restaurants around and within the Nicholas Everitt Park making it a pleasant, vibrant, energetic and blissful atmosphere for all! Having said that, sadly there are not enough accessible play equipments for children with mobility needs! We must have to include accessible play equipments so that all children of all abilities can explore & enjoy the Play Area! The management of the Park must be thanked for their efforts and dedication keeping the park and all the amenities tidy, clean, and resourceful! Having said that, it was very difficult finding information about the Nicholas Everitt Park online - there aren't any dedicated webpage about the park and also confusing information about the Park Authority! It would be ideal to have dedicated presence online with key information, map, accessibility details, tennis courts booking details so that visitors and tourists can find the necessary information easily and plan their visit to this blissful park!

How unique - the irony of Banksy’s artwork sits well within this well to do district - and I’m sure the local council do not bat an eyelid to the moral message within the work plastered within the park they deem fit to charge tourists. Have you ever had to pay to gain entry to a public park? Well at Nicholas Everit Park the council claim their Deed of Gift and use it to maximise profit during the height of their season. We didn’t mind you g the fee to enter the park as we wanted to see the boat show and make use of the cafe, however I noticed scores of families sat outside the fences trying to get a picture of what was going on at the waters edge. No where was it advertised you would have to pay to enter, not online or in travel brochures - but on arrival you’ll find a list of dates that the council will charge you. Being most people will come to this broad for the power boat racing - you will have to pay to use the park. Im sure the profits from this capitalist venture pays for the upkeep of the park - it is beautiful and well kept - however the purposeful segregation for those not able to pay for entry (especially during this cost of living crisis) to a PUBLIC PARK clearly indicates that the denizens of this district clearly have not truly reflected on the message in Banksy’s work… I know this review will not sit well with others - however I think public parks are for the public - not for profit.

Only reason I visited was to see the Banksy called "we're all in the same boat" that's on one of the bridges over the canal/stream, very impressed. Second Banksy I've seen and just as good as the first one. Park itself looks good for children with plenty of things to keep them busy and the car park is free for 30 minutes. Plenty of squirrels who seem pretty timid and will take food from your hands. The park was named after a man who lived in Oulton who did lots of good deeds and was quite an interesting character. Well worth a visit.
