No. 142 Café & Bar — Restaurant in East Suffolk

I had booked afternoon tea for a friends birthday for today,when booked I asked if my food can be separate from my friends as I am allergic to fish ,on arrival there seemed to be a mix up ,the young girl who bought our food to our table,it was her first day and was very nice and polite,there was no separate food so explained that I'm allergic to fish,the next girl that came up wasnt so nice ,she bought a few fresh sandwiches which was very nice but her attitude wasnt so nice ,in front of everyone in the room she tried to make me feel small as if it had been a problem that I wanted my food separate,we wasnt offered any tea or drinks the whole time we sat upstairs and staff was up and down,on leaving was asked by the same girl if everything had been alright and yet again her attitude not nice,she said they tried to make me happy and as I pointed it out it wasnt about making me happy,its about my health being allergic and as I work in catering I know full well about peoples allergies,was very disappointed as we use the...

Not impressed. The place is quite small, which adds to the atmosphere of a quaint tea shop. There were four of us and a table was quickly cleared. Pity we then had to ask for the table to be wiped. Sausage rolls and hot drinks which we all agreed were excellent. It was a cold Winter's day and the staff kept leaving the back door open, creating an icy draft. Asked for salt, as there wasn't any in the basket of sachets. Assistant went outside (more cold draft) and came back with salt sachets. Opened four and all were damp! When the coffee machine was being used it so loud we couldn't hear ourselves speak. Maybe sitting upstairs...

We entered the cafe and all we got was a quick hello. We didn't get offered service for over 5 minutes of standing and staring at them. When we were finally seated, we recieved a hot chocolate to two curly hairs. They replaced this with a free one. When the breakfasts arrived, we asked for one to be well done. The eggs were undercooked and snotty. The food generally was nice. We were seated in the garden undercover with a heater but were blasted out with foreign music. Nobody came to see if everything was OK or if we needed anything else. After finishing our meal, we wanted cakes. We waited and waited but nobody...
