Better than Genting, food for me was brilliant, but my wife couldn't eat hers as chicken undercooked. Staff were friendly, and they have done away with the 50p tables it seems. Went before 9pm and was quite empty. Recently revisited, again had the order mixed up, but it was very nice food. A waitress took our wines before they were finished and Connor the barman, actually saved them, so thanks to him. The guy above the croupier was quite rude when a token touched the line when the spin finished, I now understand why they have the rule, but the man could have been a bit more pleasant about it. Other than that it was a good night. Update. Twice now The guy overseeing the croupier, Jeff, I have seen him throw chips back at customers. One was a friend, so I asked him why he did it. He wouldn't answer, the croupier was a little more communicative and said the bet was not placed squarely on the number and was ambiguous, which is fair enough, but why throw it in an impudent manner? Apparently they get it where people try and claim it was on the full number if it comes in, or on the other number if that other number comes in. So I understand he may have been 'frustrated', but throwing it back and not stating why or answering is wrong. Last time he went an Asian guy received similar treatment and asked why and again Jeff ignored him. I spoke to this guy and asked him what he did, he didn't know either. On this occasion, I couldn't get near the table as 3 of the seats were taken up by Primary carrier bags full of shopping. Also at least 2 of the people betting were constantly on their phones, but Jeff ignored these issues. The croupier did ask once that I heard for them not to use their phones over the table. But they simply leaned away. Very irritating all round. Jeff you need some dealing politely people training! Or just to learn some manners! Shame as it has put us off betting when...
Read moreI attended here for the first time in a while and got pleasantly greeted as usual. However, when I then entered I was greeted with new electronic terminals as opposed to the old ones I had previously been used to. These terminals are far more confusing than the old ones and I also believe don't link to as many live tables or if they do these were hard to find. Also they appear to only start at 25p chips now and not the previous 10p minimum limit. This is general was not too much of an issue for me and played anyway. Winning some, losing some as you do but always pressing repeat bet and then adding a couple of chips on numbers I was already covering. This is when the poor customer service comes in. So a number I was playing on comes in but I don't get paid, why not because my chips aren't on that number..why are they not there it's a repeat bet every spin for the previous 30minutes or so..So I get some one over to look. They say it must be a "click and drag" feature as the money that was on the winning number has miraculously moved to a losing number just as it comes in. Also, the manager that came over said himself he was unsure on these new machines as he was still getting used to them himself. I prove it's not a click and drag feature but because of this I lost out on about £60 from the winning number meaning I didn't have enough in the terminal to place a repeat bet which then coincidentally started winning, so the way I play I would have been up about £100 on my original stake money if not more but all I got offered was a complimentary voucher valid for 48hrs, but as I was leaving anyway I didn't take it. I wasn't actually told how much it would be but apparently it is on my account should I return in the next 48hrs and hope it will be at least £100 but don't expect it to be over £10. Extremely...
Read moreAbsolutely horrid evening. First off cutlery was dirty and we cleaned this ourselves. Plus only one spoon, per person not good if having soup and dessert? ( we did asked for more spoons, but nine came). One of the soups actually had a piece of plastic in it. This was replaced by the very overworked waitress. Starters arrived ok but when dinners arrived there were 3 missing. Asked numerous times and dinners finally turned up when all the others were finished. Then we had to ask for the veg to be replaced, as this had been sitting on the table for the whole time we were waiting. The Brussels and carrots were hard and the parsnips not fully cooked through. The drinks were served in plastic cups and although we ordered a jug of water at 7.30, this finally arrived at gone 10, containing floaters? 3 deserts arrived and were again finished before the rest came and not to disappoint one of these had the added extra of a very long hair. Whilst going to the toilet, we overheard another table complaining, about exactly the same issues. When we were leaving the chef had come out and was trying to convince 2 separate tables that there was nothing wrong with the food. We assumed it was extra busy because of the boxing, so getting any drinks was very difficult and they had run out of lots of the drinks we ordered. Other than the waiting staff, who tried their best, I would never recommend going here for a meal. Given one star, as had to...
