Last Sunday we had some friends visiting us from Cambridge and we decided to get both our toddlers at this place for a Sunday treat. I definitely regret going there as they ruined our Sunday specially for me as I only get one day a week to spend with my son due to working long hours. When we arrived we were greeted by Hollie at the door where we had to pay entrance fees we were expecting anyway. Our aim was to visit the soft play but when we were paying Hollie asked us if we fancied to visit the farm as well so we thought we will do a quick visit with the toddlers at the farm before we get into the soft play area so paid for both and proceed to the farm. No advice was given at this point on how things work. We spent in total 15 minutes at the farm and decided to go back in for the soft play as it was quite windy outside but there was a surprise for us once we went back in. As soon as we were going to walk into the soft play Hollie stopped us and told that we cannot go into the soft play if we have been outside to the farm first and that we should've done this other way round. We challenged Hollie and told her that she didn't inform us and our aim was the soft play mainly and her answer was that she forgot to mention that and she couldn't do something to fix it. We asked to speak to a manager then a lady called Trudy comes in and tells us on a very rude way that we cannot go into the soft play without paying. We explained to her that we paid for both with Hollie but didn't know the procedure and Hollie didn't explain to us that we had to use the soft play first and the Trudy says "Oh well I didn't know that, I will refund you the soft play but I am not refunding you the farm as you've already been there" on a very rude way which I don't find it very attractive when you ruin someone's Sunday already. I would've expected at full refund at this point and an apology but none of these happened. It's not the case of getting £10 back or whatever the price was, but is the principle that they ruined our day and were still being rude. At the end we ended spending our day in a Costa Coffee with two toddlers staying on their prams rather than enjoying themselves as we were hoping. Definitely wont be using again and won't let none of my friends or family...

Having paid the entrance fee to be told if you go outside first you will not be allowed into the soft play area afterwards, you must do that first. We found this very odd. It also means if you want to just do the outside things but want to eat there, you then have to go back inside to the restaurant next to soft play. Try telling a two year old that your not allowed to go on the soft play because of the backwards rules in place. On venturing outside, we found the whole area very dirty and covered in rubbish, even a considerate person let their child go to the toilet in one of the pieces of play equipment. As we went round we found that most of the rides were not switched on, we later found out that they are not switched on until 11. This was not clear anywhere. They also advertised a bouncy castle, for another additional cost, they didn't actually have a bouncy castle. But probably the most important issue we had on our visit was the poor and unsafe state of the facilities. Our little one walked straight up to exposed live plug sockets, luckily we stopped her. We had to complain, to which we were told that the sockets should be locked, bit late if we hadn't stopped her. On further inspection we found most of the sockets exposed accessible to any small child. Having been in the playground installation business for some time, this place is extremely unsafe. The use of domestic grade fittings and not following correct installation and safety guidelines shows a complete lack of compliance with health and safety and the safety of their customers. I would even go as far to say that if the park was inspected it would have trouble in passing and getting a safety certificate. I certainly will not be returning and will definitely not recommending this place to anyone, quite the opposite....

Booked for my son's 5th birthday last year for the indoor Barn soft play.

The sign in process was completely disorganised. There were party attenders arriving and the workers seemed confused as to who should be where ,the process was slow and chaotic as a result children lost valuable playtime.

Whilst upstairs the mayhem continued and workers were chasing us around with a card reader and seemed more focused on money than getting the guests in.disappointing.There was one redeeming feature a talented ,skilled and professional young lady ( I think Jess was her name)who shone as she got the food out on time and almost single handedly redeemed the whole event. That same young lady was great with the children.I feel she had been let down by management who were more focussed on money and not customer service.

In all fairness my children did enjoy themselves at event, the upstair s party room was a bit cramped. On the plus side you can visit the outdoor area the same day, which was brilliant, and I got a free voucher for the play barn. I redeemed it at a later date via eventbrite and there was nickel and dimed about how I had ordered the ticket, even though it was tantamount to the same financial value. The mighty profit bugs struck again, confirming my toughts on their poor command of the customer journey.

The barn wasnt up up to much , organistation and supervision lacking outdoors was the highlight. That young lady should do her own party business and the owners should ask whether excessive huberis and greed have crept in,there are alot of competitors in this space, they could do better ,priority queue for parties, better banding system, staff assigned to a party, more experienced...

I have been coming to Jake’s for over 10 years now my last visit was a couple of years ago so today we went to explore Jake’s again, we went to the indoor play area first and it never fails to excite children of all ages there is so much to do in one lay area, there’s lots of levels and even a mini football kicking part. The under 3’s is honestly the best. So much for them to explore definitely worth a visit just for the soft play, staff are all welcoming and will answer any questions you have. It’s so thought of with the layout that u don’t get bored. Then we went outside after the play area and WOW what a change, it’s so beautiful. So easy to walk around and so open. The animals are loved as they are so friendly, and you get to be so close to them, we also got some food for them and what a great experience that was. They give the children a stamp map of 6 different animals and stamps to collect whilst walking round which my child enjoyed a lot. They also have a new lake where you are able to hire a boat it looked so good we will be doing that next time for sure. Whilst we were there my child also got to enjoy feeding the chickens and the fish which she enjoyed a lot. There are so many different picnic spots and benches which are shaded also, there’s lots of play area parks also jotted round the park. It’s a brilliant day out with little ones. I also loved the fact that they have toilets now in the farm which are easy and close to everything. Great upgrade. My only disappointment was the pony’s there are two and they look to be in a very small area with only there feed balls as stimulation which was a bit sad to see but hopefully they will get a upgrade this year maybe.

This review is for the farm area not the indoor softplay which is ok. The farm is really expensive for its size and the fact that a lot of it you have to pay extra for lots of activities seems very money grabbing. I would have just accepted this as a bad visit and not return however the main issue I have with this place is the animal welfare, which is just hideous. The reptile house is something out of the 1980s before we knew how to look after the animals properly. Some animals didn't have water and one enclosure was open at the back so animals could escape. When I asked the duty manager and keeper why the animal enclosures were so dirty they replied with smiles that the manager was holiday so there was no time to full clean anything and that they were getting around to the reptile house. This is unacceptable considering the profits you must make. You need more staff or move the animals onto other places that will look after them properly.

Very let down by this establishment, the animals were not being properly cared for today: the reptile house hadn’t been managed in any way with dead invertebrates, snakes with no water and completely dry enclosures and even one enclosure with the access door left ajar for the animals to escape. Likewise, on the farm the sheep had no access to grass (probably so they had to eat the pellets sold to guests at a surprisingly high price) and when the staff were approached about these issues we were told management were on holiday and they were short staffed so hadn’t gotten round to doing it yet. Not good when it was already early afternoon. Otherwise, the place has potential to be a really nice day out but suffers from worn out attractions and hidden extra costs after you’ve already paid a high price for entry. I don’t think we’ll be going back.
