In my research for delicacies in Cornwall, this place popped up often and I was quite keen to know what a moomaid is! Finding it was not difficult as it's at the corner of a busy road. They have high chairs along the glass windows and a few tables inside for groups. They sell merchandise as well along with food and are pet friendly. We visited this place almost all of the days during our stay for their avocado on toast, brie and pesto toastie and coffee. We did try a few flavours of their ice cream and found pistachio to be the best. The sourdough bread they use is pretty good and the ingredients they use for their food is fresh and good quality as is evident in the taste. Watching cars and vans make the right turn around it's corner always fascinated me while sipping on coffee and enjoying a slice of their cake. I have tried a few varieties of the cake they serve in my visits and do notice that the cut slices are always a bit dry (orange and almond cake, coffee and walnut) but the ones cut fresh from a loaf were moist and delicious (lemon drizzle). They might have to find a way to keep the cake slices from going dry being in contact with air throughout the day. The avocado toast and brie pesto toastie are heavenly and we will be going back for it whenever we are in St Ives. Their scone with cream and jam was good as well. The staff, though friendly and prompt in their service, do look a bit fatigued and detached as the day progresses probably due to being on their feet all day serving customers and managing the cafe.

It was okay! We had a cream tea, which was £5.50 for a plain scone, jam and cream, and a pot of tea. Scone was possibly shop bought very average. Noticed its £1.75 for an extra scone, but with cream and jam, it's an extra £2. Seems expensive. Anyway ... it was okay. My son had a scoop of chocolate ice cream in a cup which was delicious. He dropped it face down, getting onto the stool, and was naturally upset. I asked if they would be kind enough to replace this, and they did but charged us! I thought considering we had bought x2 cream teas and ice cream, they could have just replaced it for free as the mark up on ice cream is great. We paid as it was our fault. There was also a large selection of coins. Probably wouldn't return here but glad we visited. There is only 4 tables and then bar stools (with backs and comfy), there is a small toilet too.

This place has so much potential, and I can see why it’s so popular, which it very much is! There’s always a decent queue for the ice cream, which extends to sundaes and milkshakes and waffles and everything you could dream of, not the cheap stuff you get at desert places that are everywhere now either, but genuinely top notch stuff! The mojito ice cream especially! The menu is unique, with crumpets being an interesting addiction, with the focus on chatting away over a nice snack and a drink. The service, although lovely was a little slow, and the cakes weren’t quite 100%. Other than that though, very close to 5 stars, with it being a wonderful little independent that you have got to check out. The berry smoothie was also gorgeous!

ā€˜Nobody Can Resist A Moomaid’ This statement is perfectly true. Nobody can resist this wondrous taste that dances on your palate and will leave you craving for more! Legend has it that a young Cornishman was lured into the sea by the beauty of the Mermaid Of Zennor. Today you’re more likely to be seduced by Daisy, Primrose and Sid Vicious- just three of the cows that help make Tremedda farm’s ice cream. They are the Moomaid of Zennor. Tulip, Rhododendron, Anemone, Heather and Lily are just a few of the Friesian cows that produce the beautiful ice cream. All the Ice cream is homemade! There are a range of several options to choose from; legendary sundaes, homemade cakes, coffees, teas and coffee’s , smoothies, milkshakes, tens of ice cream flavours to choose from and many more. Ice creams range between Honeycomb, chocolate, Shipwreck, Mango and Passion fruit, Triple mint chocolate and many more! The wonderful customer care makes you feel splendid and you will feel right at home. The view whilst you eat your dessert will be amazing; a stunning view of Harbour Beach, yet in the warmth and the cosiness of the store if you so choose. If you enjoy your meal there’s a Moomaid parlour in...
