Mythologic Escape Rooms 2 (Canterbury Street) — Attraction in Great Britain

As a family of reasonably seasoned escape room players (about 40 rooms), visiting a new venue is a cause for both excitement and anxiety. Most provide the promised thrills and challenges, but one or two have let us down with illogical puzzles and poor theming. I'm pleased to say our trip to Mythologic didn't disappoint!

A hastily placed booking on a rainy Saturday, we were steered by availablity rather than choice, although Mythologic were on our list of places to try. We went for CSI: Time's Up, playing the part of detectives trying to solve a murder.

On arrival, we were warmly greeted by Simon, our gamesmaster for the day. After signing the obligatory waiver using the QR code, we were given a briefing on the game. It was described as linear, although the forensic toolkit you need in the game provided an opportunity to mix things up a little.

The game itself was very well themed, set in a bar/pub environment, with all the furniture you'd expect to find, including juke box and pool table. The puzzles weren't too challenging if you've got a few rooms under your belt, but the theme and logic of the puzzles meant that the room was still very enjoyable. The evidence gathering the game required was a unique twist that we'd not come across before and added to the Cluedo-esque feel.

Overall, based on CSI: Time's Up, I would thoroughly recommend Mythologic. Simon was a great host and gamesmaster, and had a great knowledge of other rooms in the area.

BONUS TIP: If you use the bathroom in the Canterbury Street building, be sure to take a look at the photos of all the rooms the Mythologic team have played over time. I didn't count, but I think there are well over 100 photos...

We went as a group of 3, 2 inexperienced escape room players and one who's 4 it was, and we all loved it. Doing a horror based one with a live actor was brilliant giving a true horror experience while you're solving puzzles.

The puzzles were really well done using each of the multi-room puzzles' aesthetics along with code breaking puzzles and interactive, picture-based puzzles too.

Easy a 5/5 venue and I'd recommend this...

Done a couple of escape rooms, but this was our first one with Mythologic. I did the CSI one with my wife and it was tremendous fun! The host was warm and funny, the game was linear (which was ideal for two people!) and hard enough that you felt the pressure to complete it in time.
