Been coming to this place for years and never had a bad meal. However I went to this restaurant on Friday with my girlfriend and had one of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Got there at 9:35pm bare in mind the restaurant closes apparently at 10:30. We were the only two in the restaurant and were told we had to order Immediately. We promptly sat down and had a look at the menu, within 2-3 minutes one of the waitresses (a short Chinese woman with glasses) came over and told us “we must order NOW!” Hastily we went over and ordered quite a large order, spent around £35 and sat down and waited. The food arrived quickly however they had made an error and brought us squid instead of prawns. The lady with glasses then asked us if we wanted those or if we wanted the prawns. We said we wanted what we ordered, so she went in the back and brought out some prawns within a minute or two. I should add she was halfway though eating the squid she brought for us as she served us. The time was now around 9:55pm and although my girlfriend and I were trying to enjoy our food, all 4 of the waitresses were now sat in the dining floor by the door watching us eat and making us feel so uncomfortable. They clearly wanted to go and we’re making it very obvious. After 5 or so minutes we couldn’t take it any longer, and although we had barely eaten a quarter of our food we went and got doggie bags to take it home. As we were putting the food in the doggy bags the Chinese woman with glasses came and started clearing the plates away to make us leave quicker. I said to her “excuse me, can we finish please?” She replied “yes ok, ok” and she backed off.
We hastily packed our stuff and left at 10:08. Within seconds of us walking out the door the shutters went down and the lights went off. We weren’t wrong, they clearly wanted us to leave.
I’m very disappointed because this is a place I’ve been coming to for years, and has always been one of my favourite places to eat. But after this experience I won’t...
Read moreIf you want a cheap night out as a group and want value for money, this is the best place to go for the food. The portions are huge, the food is cheap. I've never had something that wasn't nice. We usually skip lunch before we go and sometimes take a doggy bag home with us. There's usually enough for the next day but that much food for a fiver a head is fantastic. It's always clean too.
The music has a lot to be desired, we call it chinese phil collins..
Drinks however are not worth the money at all. The alcohol is expensive and the Pepsi is from a bottle and usually flat. They also do not like to hear about it.. I don't think they believe the customer is always right and will argue with you. I've witnessed staff shouting at customers when they have complained and I've seen staff shouting at each other across the restaurant, not in english and very rude to people who are trying to enjoy their meal. The staff also tend to wander around and avoid eye contact with you, takes ages to wave them down for more drinks or something else to eat.
It's world apart from when they opened but we go because everyone can get a big meal inside them...
Read moreStrange customer service from one of the staff. The way one of them dealt with me felt like we were about to sharpen our swords, put on our armour and enter the Coliseum… a battle commenced as I asked for a small bottle of water. They said they had no small bottles and said I could buy a 2 litre bottle at a price of ludicrous proportions. Then I said I’ll leave it and only ordered food and I sat down. Don’t sit there…. I was shouted at. They moved me to the end of a table with a couple trying to enjoy their meal, that obviously wouldn’t want me near them when the other table was free. My food come out and sadly the rice had a black hair in it. I didn’t say anything as I was drained from the conversation from before and didn’t wish to go to Battle again. I ate some of my meal and left. Haven’t returned. Strange the management allow someone so rude to be rude without restraint or consequences. Word of mouth about the rudeness costs the business money so it is nonsensical. Only recommend eating there if you go with...
