We’ve visited Cosmo as a family, as we’ve been to Cosmo in Southampton and liked it. This branch of cosmo is a lot smaller than what we are used to. Getting a table was quick and easy and Joanne was a nice lady that took the payment. As mentioned before this is a much smaller world food buffet that we are used to so there isn’t as much variety as we’d like. But the food was ok. My daughter is a wheelchair and going to the toilet can be a problem for people that are fully wheelchair bound as it’s steps down to the washrooms. Thankfully my daughter can walk for 10minutes between a 20-30 minute break. It would be great if there was a lift or a wheelchair lift to help disabled people get to and from the toilets. We’ve arrived on the day at 4:50pm and been told we have our table for 1.5 hrs which was absolutely fine with us. So we had till 6:20 pm however at 5:30pm a short Asian male was very rude and tried to kick us off our table despite the time not being up. We were very disturbed by this! We would have understood if it was our time to leave but we still had 50 minutes. So when I spoke to this person showing the receipt 🧾 that we did not arrive at 3:30 pm which he claimed we did, he wasn’t interested and claimed we’ve stayed 2 hrs. I then showed him the receipt again which was time stamped, my text message to my sister in law saying I have arrived in the area and parked my car at 4:36pm and showed him my google timeline which shows that at 3:30 pm we were still at the holiday resort in near pool! He didn’t even apologise to my family despite him being in the wrong and seeing we were still eating. I’ve raised this problem with the manager at this branch who was very understanding and said he’d speak to the individual and train him again. We were very disappointed with the service provided my the individual who tried to make us rush our food and kick us off our table despite it not even been 1.5hrs! There was a funny robot 🤖 waitress singing happy birthday to a lady which was interesting to see. I personally would NOT recommend this Cosmo branch due to this very bad experience! However I’d still go to the Southampton branch as it’s lovely there.

First off, I'm not the best person to review this place, as I'm not a foreign food lover. COSMO offered foods from around the world, with lots of choice on offer, however I was really there for the carvery. Yorkshire puddings were small, I believe packet frozen ones, (and cold) as we're the roast potatoes, hot as straight out of the oven. Beef was gristly, gammon superb, no turkey on offer this occasion. I had expected this all to be home cooked, it was my first visit. The gravy 'was' home made but full of mushrooms and other items, lacked any taste and was cold. Burger was dry, fries thin and lacked anything, and pizza (at the time) looked unappealing, although fresh pizza arrived later but I'd had my dessert by then. So for £20 the quality was not there, but choice and quantity in abundance. I did better with the dessert choices which were plentiful and delicious. The table staff were frequent, friendly and efficient. The carvery staff miserable and barely spoke and were not happy to be there. As a boy on a budget I probably wouldn't return, there are better carveries out there for half the price, and the burger and fries option was dry and bland not to be repeated. If they did a pudding only ticket I'd be there weekly 🤗 I think my two friends enjoyed their foods from the world more, which I guess is where this place excels. It's worth the experience. The venue was large, modern, busy. Drinks were extra, a refill being £3.85 (August 2022). Toilets down a very grand staircase, modern, intact and relatively clean. I tried to be fair in this review, as I experienced it.

We went on a Saturday night, 7.15pm booking. It was rammed. Almost too busy for the staff to be able to keep up. We queued for about 5 minutes to get in. There were plenty of dishes available, Indian, Chinese, roast meats, seafood, Korean plus pizza, burgers, fried chicken, etc. A great choice. Sadly, other people are messy & spill food over the counter when serving themselves so it can look a little untidy. The quality of the food was OK, a bit of a mixed bag. Roast meats & freshly cooked steak & squid were really good. Some of the curry's & Chinese weren't great but there is so much to choose from you'll find things you'll like. It was so busy, though, at one point they ran out of plates & dishes were out & not refreshed quickly enough. It costs £21 plus drinks, so it's pretty good value. You get 1h 45 minutes to eat, but to be honest, I didn't see anyone being asked to leave. They have a random robot that delivers drinks & birthday cakes too, kids loved it. It's worth a visit, maybe on a weeknight, though.

Dear COSMO Bournemouth Management,

I am writing as a long-standing customer of COSMO, someone who has always valued the relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, great menu choices, and excellent value for money. My whole family enjoys dining with you, and it was for this reason my father chose to celebrate his 65th birthday at COSMO Bournemouth with friends and family on Monday, 1st September 2025, at 6pm.

This occasion was particularly special, as it also marked 1.5 years of my father being cancer-free and making a great recovery. The excitement and anticipation had been building for weeks. Sadly, what should have been a joyful and memorable evening was overshadowed and ruined by the conduct of your staff.

On arrival at 5:50pm, we were greeted at the bar by a manager who, rather than welcoming us, immediately began repeating that we were booked for 6:00pm and had only 1.5 hours for dinner. This was done in a way that felt abrupt, unwelcoming, and unnecessarily uncomfortable. I am fully aware that COSMO operates time slots, but in all the years I have dined at your restaurant, I have never been harassed about the time limit or treated with such inflexibility.

Despite the restaurant being far from busy (it was a Monday evening with many empty tables), the manager continued to stress the 1.5-hour limit, making everyone uncomfortable. When I raised my concerns with our server, explaining that it was a special family celebration, he kindly said he would see what he could do. He later returned to say we could only have an extra 15 minutes, which frankly felt insulting given the occasion.

The situation worsened when, at 7:45pm—just as we had finished singing “happy birthday” and were enjoying our desserts and drinks—the same manager returned to insist that we leave. His manner was rude, dismissive, and completely disrespectful, especially given that the restaurant remained half-empty. This behaviour disrupted the celebration, embarrassed our guests, and left us feeling rushed out of the door instead of valued as customers.

This experience was deeply disappointing. A milestone birthday and a family celebration of life and recovery were overshadowed by unnecessary, rigid enforcement of a rule that has never before been applied in such a hostile manner. The staff’s attitude showed no respect, no compassion, and no understanding for customers—let alone loyal, local residents celebrating a very special occasion.

I am appalled by the way we were treated and feel strongly that this is no way to run a business. COSMO Bournemouth benefits from a prime location and a loyal customer base, but experiences like this will drive people away. Families in this town deserve better, and I sincerely hope you will reflect on this and make the changes needed to ensure no other customer has...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cosmo Bournemouth, and I must say that it was an absolute delight from start to finish. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience.

The first thing that struck me was the impressive variety of cuisines on offer. Cosmo Bournemouth truly caters to every palate, with an extensive selection of dishes from around the world. Whether you're in the mood for Chinese, Indian, Italian, Japanese, or even traditional British fare, you'll find it all here. The live cooking stations added an interactive element to the meal, allowing me to watch skilled chefs prepare fresh sushi, sizzling stir-fries, and mouthwatering desserts right before my eyes.

The quality of the food was exceptional. Each dish was expertly crafted, bursting with flavors and made with the freshest ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the sushi selection, which was beautifully presented and tasted divine. The Indian curries were rich and aromatic, while the Italian pasta dishes were cooked to perfection. The dessert section was a sweet paradise, with an array of delectable treats that satisfied my sweet tooth.

The service at Cosmo Bournemouth was top-notch. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. They were more than happy to guide me through the vast array of dishes and offer recommendations based on my preferences. The speed at which dishes were replenished ensured that everything was fresh and readily available.

The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and stylish. The contemporary decor, coupled with soft lighting, created an elegant yet comfortable setting for dining. The spacious layout allowed for a relaxed and enjoyable experience, even during peak hours.

One aspect that stood out to me was the attention to cleanliness and hygiene. The restaurant maintained impeccable standards, with regular sanitization and proper social distancing measures in place. This gave me peace of mind while dining, knowing that my safety was a top priority.

In conclusion, Cosmo Bournemouth is a culinary gem that delivers an exceptional dining experience. With its diverse range of cuisines, high-quality food, impeccable service, and inviting ambiance, it's a restaurant that caters to all tastes and occasions. Whether you're visiting for a special celebration or simply seeking a memorable meal, Cosmo Bournemouth is sure to leave a lasting impression. I can't wait to return and explore more of their...

Normally, I would rate this 4 or 5 stars, and we have been seven or eight times before, but our experience on Sunday evening was not very good. We had received an email promotion offering a family of two adults and two children an all you can eat buffet for £55, not including drinks. To get this deal, the email said book and quote 'JAN55'. I did this by booking using the link in the promotional email and arrived at the restaurant. On arrival we quoted 'JAN55' but the manager and waiter insisted we present the "voucher". After 15 minutes of arguing the toss and proving that there is no voucher available, we were presented with a full price bill as you pay up front. Eventually, they relented an honoured the deal, although in reality, it turned out to only save about £1.50. Well, we should have read the small print and done our sums first. Anyway, we also had our son and his girlfriend with us, our total bill was £113.

That experience was annoying enough, but when we eventually went up to the buffet, six of the dishes were empty, and not refilled. As other customers complained, the trays and labels were simply removed! It happened that 4 of the 6 dished were vegetarian options and I'm a vegetarian. Many of the other dishes were down to the last scraps, and the onion rings in particular had been under the warmer so long that it was actually impossible to cut them with a knife, so out of curiosity, and to entertain the kids, I tried to see if it was actually possible to chew one with my teeth, and it wasn't. Gave up, spat it out. The chocolate fountain wasn't switched on, which is what my young daughters really wanted to go to Cosmo for, and we use it as a reward if the eat their 'greens'. So that didn't go down well, either.

So, in the end we paid as good as full whack, got about a much reduced range of food, and half to a third of what we did have was dry to point of being unpleasant. We didn't complain again, as we were sick of arguing and just wanted a nice meal out. I would also add that there was some awful gangster rap music being played at the same volume in the kitchen as the piped ambient music. Add to that, someone doing community service cleaning windows inside, just felt bizarre. Fairplay that someone was 'doing their time' and doing a good job of it, but just weird while you eat your dinner.

We'll probably just go to Wagamama or Nandos, or som...
