After I ordered pint on the App a waiting time for it was 17 minutes. Attempt to serve me was apparently made in minute 18 when in the Gentlemen room. In the minute 20 I politely asked very young waitress who rather fill the mayo, ketchup and vinegar baskets then made another attempt to deliver my prepaid paint. She even tried to avoid me. Her pathetic reaction was that I was not in my chair and due not spiking drinks policy. She couldn't leave it there. Basically I could wait 17 minutes, but she would not wait 1 minute. It was obvious where I was, as all my personal staff at the table, with my jacket over the chair. Finally my pint was delivered at minute 24 by the same worker, but that was not end of the story. A duty manager in her 40's turned up swiftly and asked me to finish my pint and leave the pub. She didn't give me the reason why I have to leave, neither her name. I told her that rather then bullying a regular customer she should clean my table and table next to me, as it wasn't cleaned for 45 minutes. After plates taken away and me finishing the pint it wasn't still done and table unfinished with cleaning staff on the chair. It was minute 65 since I entered the pub. Shocking experience!

Very nice vibe to this place. Lots of young people out enjoying life. Love it. Town has the xmas market on. ST Peters across the road. I did look properly into the history. Mary was born in London. She had started a relationship with her soon to be whilst he was married with a child at 16? More than likely she lost her viginity on her mothers grave stone. Her sister fled with them, fell for Percy and commited susicid when he chose Mary over her.Percy's wife had comited suicied a couple of weeks away from giving birth. He was only 21. They had children but only one survived to adulthood. Did the book come about from an idea from a party in Swiz because people robbed graves to operate on. Who knows. Mary died from a brain tumor, age 54, in London. It was her son who moved her body to a town she never visited. Anyway, great friendly pub. Plenty of parking in town. Loved it, back soon.

I have been in many Wetherspoons but this one is not one of the best. Popped in today at 8 a.m. as my wife and I were in the area but we were disappointed overall. Firstly it may be that they were short staffed as service taking our order was slow with no one there for several minutes with a queue building. Then it took about 20 mins for our breakfasts to arrive which is the slowest I have ever encountered. It was not very hot when it was delivered and the tomatoes were missing, so there was trouble in't kitchen!! Otherwise it is a good size with a small open air seating area and a good choice of tables. There are ladies and gents loos downstairs and a disabled loo on the same floor as the restaurant.

I'm 30. I came with a group of my friends from work. (most all younger than me but all had ID's) and we were all ID'D and apparently me and one other person was considered challenge '25', i didn't have my ID and she informed me I would be kicked out at 9 and I would not get served alcohol, even with my food. Just to be clear the young blonde female worker looked very smug about it. I even told her my age, i don't know what under 18 year old would attempt to pass off for a 30 year old, but that's aside the point.

I definitely did not look under the age of 25, neither didn't the other person ( big bushy beard, grey hair on the sides, tattoos all up his arms) this is the reason he forgets his ID because no one has ever considered him challenge 25, infact he has asked people to see his ID before, and servers usually laugh and say no 🤣 it's actually a bit of a running joke (even here on previous occasions, me and the other person have never been ID'D here before.)

That being said maybe they were trying to be more careful, or atleast that is what I thought.

We drove home got our ID's came back, to see more of our friends of friends had arrived at our table. They all had alcohol served to them, we told them why we had to leave, this is when these friends had been served without an ID check, these inparticular people happen to be 18 - 22 years old.

So you are telling me that me who is 30 and looks 30 had to go home, and our friends of friends around 18- 22 was not even ID'D, one of these people in particular has a baby face and looks around 16- 17 years old, and THEY did not challenge 25?

Complete joke, needs to be more consistant checking, either get to know what challenge 25 in a person actually looks like or ID EVERYONE.

Server just wanted...

Went here for a quick meal with the girls while visiting Bournemouth. Ordered two cocktail pitchers, some small plates and a burger meal which came with a drink. The staff asked for I.D for the pitchers and we only had 1 physical I.D and the rest had photos of our I.D. This wasn’t accepted and the drinks were taken away which is completely fine and understandable. However, I didn’t receive my drink for the burger meal and that’s where the issue began… I went up to get the drink which came with the meal, but first I kindly asked the guy at the bar if he could confirm if the meal in fact came with a drink and he said yes. I was about to ask for the drink of my choice when his colleague came up and whispered in his ear. He then cut me off and said unfortunately he was told he cannot serve me. So I said why not? You just told me that my meal comes with a drink. He said yes but unfortunately I can’t give u one. I said I just want a lemonade please my meal comes with a drink. And he went on to say I cannot have a lemonade and that he is only able to offer me water. Another colleague had to then correct him after hearing the back and forth between us and say that I can have a soft drink. In the end I got the lemonade, but I was disappointed in the lack of proper communication between staff. The person who said I shouldn’t be served should have said specifically that they meant alcohol. This situation has ruined our experience here and we will not return. To be fair I will say we had no issues with the food, it was...

Another Wetherspoons yes!...but Christopher Creek Landsdowne Bmth is closing soon..no idea why..its always busy..getting very finicky WSp..not right enough for them..cater for the more local clients too and bit smaller outlets. Dont get greedy..your cut your own throat Tim. Anyway real ale prices excellent.. breakfast is good too..g&ts not bad value either..shame tho when beers are on tap but dont show up on line..not much point if you got to go to the bar to order when you expect it to show on line and delivered to your table. I know if its busy the ales sell quickly and it does 'most of the time' shows on line..but ales I bought at the bar dont always show on line..you can lose your table and then have to wait to be served..but not too bad..I did inadvertantly notice tho in a bmth Wsps a staff member sweeping up with a dustpan and brush, then going into the kitchen and virtually came out with two plates of food in her hands..obviously and definately never washed her hands..never had time err..come on this ain't on. Just a note..in Torquay they've been selling their specials, curry, steaks etc for ages, yet Bmth nout at mo..getting a bit expensive the old joe Blake's (steaks) now, add a drink and your talking near other restaurant prices.

But overall generally good value.

Always makes me larf tho..coffee is very cheap..but how much coffee do they want and can drink..lots by what I've seen..would'nt be if they paid £2.50 to £3.00 like many places ive been..'greedy...
