Leo Cafe — Restaurant in Great Britain

I've always heard great things of Leo's and thought we give it a go for lunch.

As it was busy, we decided to order a take-out, 2 baked potatoes, one with cheese & beans, the other with cheese & beans and extra tuna mayo. For some reason, the lady behind the counter took my wife's order first, then served people who arrived after us, before i had to ask if i could place my order, too, so my wife and i can eat together.

She wasn't very pleased, even though i made my point in a friendly and calm manner. There were no thank you/please for either of us, and no smiles, just telling us how it costs, and handing the change over without a word. It makes such a difference when you're being treated with a smile and a bit of friendliness.

I paid over £2 extra for my tuna mayo, only to discover that i had less cheese & beans than my wife. When you're paying extra, you shouldn't be punished with less.

Leo's is well established, and i do wish them the best of luck, but like with anything in life, there is room for some improvement. I'd start...

Nice staff and music playing for a morning breakfast. However I mark them at three stars for the fact my salmon cuts had dark ends which I cut off. Also only one peice of toast cut in two for salmon,scrambled egg and cream cheese isn't enough. Better with two slices. Scrambled egg nice but needed more salt as they'd used less egg than I'd probably use myself making it at home. Their coffee is nice but small. I'd say its too expensive for the food I had although coffee is included in the price of the breakfast which is a great deal. Average but perfectly...

Got the full English breakfast, have to say it was awful. Beans were served not even warm (near enough cold), the toast was very hard and dry, bacon was over cooked and very crunchy. Eggs were poor, one was ok the other was a broken yolk, not runny. Mushrooms were old and dried out, hash browns were cheap frozen crap. Cheap coffee and cheap sausages.

Would not recommend, I don’t understand the high reviews for this place, the expectations were high, but I was very let down to say the least.
