Made an online order directly from sellers website & although stated on the website “free delivery on UK orders over £10” I was charged for the delivery.
When I queried this over E-mail with a screen shot of the offer, Phil, who kindly replied that there was no such offer, asked where I recalled seeing the offer?
Screen shot sent again of the free delivery over £10. His reply this time was that there was a problem with my “cookies” and “If you click refresh or use a different browser you will see the more up to date information. Sometimes cookies on your computer or browser don’t always download the most up to date pages, and just show what is saved on your computer”.
I had never been to this website before & my purchase was made there & then when I first came across the website.
My second issue with this is that Phil, very kindly offered a “Gesture” to include a surprise free gift for more than the postage amount when I ship tomorrow”
I haven’t had a reply from anyone since this email, probably because I disputed his claims and stated that I believe the website to have been updated following my e-mail.
What Phil didn’t realise was that my items had been posted the day before this conversation & DHL had delivered my items an hour before this suggested gesture was made.
When I returned from work to open my items I was surprised to see that my free item was included in my order - this is obviously a little touch the Potions Cauldron like to add.
I’d like to say that with the current climate I am fortunate enough that I am still able to work & earn money, so spending extra money for a delivery I wasn’t anticipating paying for, isn’t too much of a worry for me. However some people aren’t that lucky and are likely to be watching every penny.
My email really, was to highlight this & that there was an error on the website & to receive acknowledgement so that it does not happen to anyone else.
It wasn’t my intention to seek a refund or leave any bad reviews but with the dishonesty I felt like I should say something.
That being said the products I purchased were delivered very quickly, they are well presented & had I not had a problem with being overcharged, the free extra was a nice touch. I can’t comment on taste as they are a...

Stepping into The Potions Cauldron in York felt like entering a world where magic was alive and brewing in every corner. The atmosphere is delightfully enchanting, with potions and mysterious bottles lining the shelves, making you feel like you’ve wandered into a wizard’s secret lair.
Our potion of choice for the day was the Poisoned Apple drink, and it did not disappoint! With a playful twist on the classic apple flavor, it was as if we had sipped a spell from a mischievous sorcerer’s brew. The drink arrived in a charming goblet, swirling with color and mystery, accompanied by a dash of humor—it's not every day you’re invited to "drink at your own peril!" The balance of flavors was a delightful blend of sweetness with just enough of an edge to make the experience unforgettable.
The staff were absolutely wonderful, charming and humouring weaving their own brand of charm into the experience, and adding a sprinkle of magic to the whole visit. Every moment felt like part of a whimsical journey, and the atmosphere of the cauldron left us grinning from ear to ear.
Whether you’re a lover of potions, good fun, or simply looking for an immersive and entertaining way to spend an afternoon in York, The Potions Cauldron is an absolute must. We’ll definitely be back for more magical concoctions!

Read moreA disappointing experience. I booked the 18+ potion-making experience with my parents and partner and, as others have said, it was 20 minutes of watching videos followed by a cocktail being brought in (premade), we were left to talk for 5 minutes, then a short 'quiz' from the staff before we actually made a cocktail. By cocktail, we poured a few things into a glass with some Whiz Fizz. This was the only cocktail we made and it took all of 5 minutes. The staff then said we had ten minutes to enjoy the cocktail, then the staff came in and told us we had five minutes to leave. Overall, disappointing and definitely not worth the money.
EDIT - UPDATE: I was kindly invited back to the Potions Cauldron, who advised that they had improved the experience since my last visit. We had a late start, but the staff member leading the experience was apologetic and had a high-energy. The drinks had definitely improved, with every drink involving some ‘making’, and we were definitely not sober at the end. We were pre-warned that we had a certain amount of time at the end before the session would finish, and they offered to pour any leftover drink into plastic cups which i thought was a nice touch. My only concern would be that guests were not allowed to use the toilet during the experience, reportedly due to it being messy. Overall, a definite...
