on arrival we was greeted warmly by the bar maid who gave us the key to our room but this is where the problems started our room had not been cleaned. ||After a long drive I jumped into the “Power Shower” that was no more than a luke warm watering. ||The hotel was advertised as 12am closing for the bar but music was still pumping extremely loud until 2am. ||A fight started in the bar and fell out into the street with shouting and swearing going on for least an hour without any signs of the local Hedlu being called. ||Finally when the ruckus has stopped and we started to get some sleep, a drunken guest tried to enter our room using his key and banging on our door. Only to pulled into his room by who ever he was with. ||This did not stop there with arguments in the landing and them coming in and out of the room banging the doors. ||We decided to cut our trip short with plenty of stuff planned and left at 7am with little...

We only stopped by for a quick drink on our way home. However there happened to be a food menu on the table. After reading their small but unusual menu eith the by-line 'we don't do fast food, we do good food' my thoughts were that either they had an arrogant, egocentric would be, or that the chef was extremely talented. Thank goodness it was the latter. I had the Glazed Salmon Rice bowl and hubby had the Duck breast with salt and pepper chips and duck leg sauce.

When the food arrived it was beautifully presented and tasted simply divine. The duck breast was cooked to perfection accompanied by a very meat ladened duck leg sauce. My Salmon rice bowl was faultless. Again, beautifully presented and tasted our of this world.

We would highly recommend eating at here. This is definitely a young...

Visited the pub last night for food. The Staff were friendly and attentive. Plenty of choice for seating areas (both inside and out) pub is dog friendly. Pub is clean throughout although some areas are looking a little tired. Menu has limited choice but is reasonably priced and has plentiful portion sizes. I had homemade Stake & Ale pie- pie was tasty, plenty of meat inside, was accompanied by chips & garden peas. Would suggest ordering additional gravy if going for this option. My partner had the beef lasagne with garlic bread massive portion- enough to take home for the following day. Would have been nice to have a side salad included with this meal. Overall experience was good will be...

Can't make comment about food as we were not allowed into the restaurant. Or more specifically they wouldn't allow my daughters fully accredited medical assistance dog, he was in full jacket and collar. Their excuse was the carpet in the restaurant! Hope they have no visitors with dirt on their shoes! Staff members were fairly rude/aggressive and did not appear to know the law regarding access and assistance dogs and weren't willing to listen.

Great location and a nice view of the castle from the outside seating area. Barmaid could have been a little friendlier and never spoke a word while she took my drinks order. Sat outside and enjoyed the only cask ale they had to offer . Never really felt a reason for a return visit but still a nice place .
