La Marina Cei — Restaurant in Wales

We ended up leaving, we sat there for over 15 minutes waiting for a waitress to order drinks looking at the tiny menu which is not what is on the website. The menu on the website has 7 fish dishes and 5 meat dishes but the ones we were given had 3 of each and none of us could find one thing we actually liked the look of. We live locally and go to the other restaurant all of the time so we were really disappointed by the lack of variety and service here. We booked here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and picked here so we could have a couple of drinks in town beforehand. I'm also not sure why they ask where you want to sit when you book as i picked downstairs and we were put upstairs in a tiny cramped room. Great little quaint restaurant, Melanie staff member is excellent helpful and lovely. The menu however didnt represent what was on the on line menu, we requested to sit upstairs and was seated downstairs, not a big issue however why be given the choice when you book online. I had two very nice vegetarian dishes and my husband had the lamb kofta and the chicken skewer, unfortunately the chicken was raw so this dish got sent back and a fresh cooked one was brought out. The manager/owner eventually came over to us to apologise shortly before we were leaving. We paid the bill however nothing was knocked of the price and no form of a compensated drink was offered, even though it was my birthday. Superb location and very nice food. However as others have said, the starters or “nibbles” are actually much larger than the main dishes , we were worried that after the starters we wouldn’t be able to manage our mains but when they arrived they were very small. We had scallops for a main of which there were just 2 on the plate and little else. I also asked if the starters could come out with mains but got told they just come out when they come out, which I found quite odd but didn’t argue. All in all the restaurant is very clean and is quite modern and the food itself is very tasty but I would suggest just ordering the nibbles as they are much better value for money than the mains.
