Love cavedale been here multiple times.

So instead of doing a normal walk here is a series of climbs you can do.

Firstly this is still my favourite on to date. As you enter on your left you will see a bit of a cliff that you can climb up with no harness Very shear drop so only attempt if somewhat experienced.

Done it once and the adrenaline rush is class.

The second one is a sheep trail you follow which is on your right when your around half way through cavedale and you crawl up the side. At the bottom they is a shear drop.

If your to do any of these please be confident enough in yourself and also make sure you double check if any of the rocks are lose or not.

The...

Gorgeous at any time of the year. We recently braved a snowy, icey hike through Cavedale and up into the peaks. If you are planning something similar then good boots are a must. The entrance can be slippy and the far end is basically a gentle water fall that you can walk up. If something is happening in Peak Cavern, (if they are showing a movie as they sometimes do), then you can hear it through a hole in the cliff further up Cavedale. After your hike, be sure to warm yourself by the fire in one of Castletons lovely pubs. Our favourite is The George, but they are all...

A stunning location to walk in, I went downhill as I was doing a circular walk from my campsite at the top of Winnats Pass. Please make sure you wear appropriate footwear, due to the ground you’re walking on. As you can see from the pics, it’s not the easiest of surfaces for a stretch of it (I did see someone wearing walking sandals-great for flat level ground but not when they give you no ankle support whatsoever). Next time I’ll attempt to go up (I prefer walking uphill!). Being part mountain goat may help you haha, unless you’re bonkers and ride your...

Strange little entrance which open up into a very wide dale but beware for the sheep poo and loose rocks. Can be easier to walk along the grasses edges rather than the middle strip of loose stone but then you have to dodge the sheep poo. Further up the Dale there are a few shallow caves you can enter but the larger ones, those that are unsafe, are blocked off. Great views down towards Castleton and up to Peveril Castle. There is a circular walk up and over the hill and down to Winnats Road. Avoid when very wet or Snow is on the ground unless your prepared.
