Found the gorgeous Peveril tearoom in Castleton seeking warm shelter after 2 hiking route failures around Mam Tor & Cave Dale. Super friendly atmosphere, caring staff (or owners) where nothing is too much trouble. The food selection looked fantastic and the main reason I chose this tearoom was the Vegan options they offered. Coffee and chocolate cake was ordered and devoured! Beautifully moist, rich chocolate cake 🤪 There was a little cookie that came with the coffee, do you sell these too because I would of bought a few to take with us! They clearly love dogs, plenty of leash hooks inside for your furbabies to join you. We visited mid week (none school holidays) with plenty of seating available (the gale force winds kept most away). One last note, their prices were very reasonable, in fact it cost us less than it would a trip to a costa! (Not to mention the taste, selection, atmosphere & area). We will defo be back to finish our hike and eat more vegan chocolate cake 😍 See...
Read moreExcellent food cooked and baked perfectly. Lovely atmosphere and friendly feel. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. My dog was made very welcome and fussed over. Wheelchair access good as I am a paraplegic. I would HIGHLY recommend this place Stuart Pickering. Will be making this a regular stop when in Castleton. We re-visited the tea room on Thurs 17th Jan . My wife had Shepherd's pie and vegetables. All home made and cooked on the premises. She loved every fork full and said it was piping hot to the last mouthful. I had a full English breakfast with all the finest ingredients and it too was piping hot. I was pleased to enjoy a generously large teapot full of good strong Yorkshire tea...also hot. My wife had apple pie and cream and I had home made chocolate cake and cream, it was GORGEOUS. Our dog "Malachi" was also made welcome and given a treat. Once again a very warm welcome was given...well done...
Read moreWhat a lovely find. We dropped down into castleton after a lovely long snowy walk. We noticed peveril Tea rooms from the lovely display window of cakes. We popped inside for a cream tea and the atmosphere was so welcoming we just didn't want to leave. the prices were most reasonable and the cream tea came with a freshly baked scone, clotted cream and homemade strawberry jam that was to die for. The coffee was just perfect. I can't remember ever being made to feel so welcome in a cafe. The range of homemade cakes was exceptional and also so very fresh. I will recommend the Peveril Tea rooms to everyone and just can't wait to go back will defo have lunch next time....
