The photo attached to this review is of a burger costing £18! A ridiculous price for sub par food. The burger itself was okay but the chips were undercooked and each person had different amounts on their plates. If I was paying honestly I would have paid £12 maximum. My sister's meal was a 'pasta special', absolutely nothing special about it. It was exactly like shop bought tortellini which was slightly undercooked and very dry. They then missed one of the desserts ordered and when we pointed it out an apology was made, however it still took another 5 minutes just for an ice cream sundae. Once the missing dessert had arrived the rest of the party had almost finished eating. Servers came around three times while the last person was still eating and asked to clear the table, reaching to get the plates before we had said it was okay. We think it is rude to keep trying to clear the table whilst someone is still eating. The location of the pub is good. I would personally go to The Bull where I have been before and had great food and service. Here it is over priced, poor quality food and rushed service. I would not return. £3.80 for a pint of post mix diet Pepsi is also steep. I wish I'd taken more photos of the others food to show to pass on.

What a great pub! A busy establishment with plenty of seating both inside and out. Outside seating is to the front and overflow seating to the rear. Around to the back of the pub holds the ‘Pizza Box’. It’s has a great menu of pizzas - We ordered the ‘Italian Job’ …. Superb!. A bit of info…. You can order your pizza from ‘Little George’ an outside bar where you can also buy drinks without having to go in to the main bar (card and cash payments available) There’s plenty of staff and all are on hand to make sure you are served as swiftly as possible. All were polite and there does seem emphasis on customer satisfaction. *Busy times could bring on a slight wait but from the pizza we ordered, they’ll be worth the wait. *Full pub Kitchen menu also available! A super stop off. Great food. Great staff. What’s not to love, pizza and pints. In my opinion easy on the wallet too! N.B. Produce grown in the village is used to supply the Kitchen used by the Chefs (seen it with my own eyes). Keeping it local. Pushing sustainability. Well done team! *check out their website for full details. PCB 🤌🏻

Below expectations. Had high hopes, but the Sunday roast didn’t quite deliver – especially at £19. It was supposed to come with roasted veg, but out of the four of us, mine never arrived. When I asked, I was told the veg was served to share and one portion was just larger. Unfortunately, by the time that was explained, my friends had already half-finished theirs. A simple fix could’ve been just bringing another portion – it doesn’t cost much. In the end, one of the lovely customers kindly gave me theirs. There was also confusion around desserts. Two apple crumbles were ordered, but we received one apple crumble and one school pudding. Initially, staff insisted that’s what we ordered, but after checking, they admitted the mistake and corrected it. Still not sure how the confusion happened, especially as we never even mentioned the school pudding. On a more positive note, the pub itself is clean, beautifully decorated, and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Staff were pleasant overall, but the experience just felt a bit disorganised. The variety of beers and ales could also be improved.

Don't go if you're melanated. Vile, contempt filled behaviour from multiple staff.

While the food was fine, the service was horrific. From the moment I walked in and asked if they would be able to accommodate 12 of us, I was made to feel like a tolerated hinderance, with staff huffing and sighing at the idea. If you didn't have the capacity to treat us with respect and dignity, you should have said that instead of accepting us as customers paying nearly £80.

When our food arrived, and some of our group were leaving with their take aways, your staff came out to shout at the top of their voices while we were trying to say goodbyes that we should "go to the other side of the road"- which is a graveyard by the way. Your staff also looked at me like I'd asked an unreasonable request to have take away cutlery with our takeaway food, and given it had just stopped raining, we just decided to stay outside with our food instead of go to our cars. When you didn't want one of our group who had some chips from somewhere else to stay here, your staff shouted at him and without waiting or a warning, proceeded to stick their fingers in our groupmate's food- unbelievably aggressive behaviour instead of speaking to us like people, let alone customers. When I asked for an apology for that and said it was wildly inappropriate to touch someones food like that, I was told I can "think whatever I want love", a horribly dismissive and misogynistic reply. Then that same staff member proceeded to PHYSICALLY SHOVE one of our other groupmates, over a fork being used that you refused to provide us with cutlery despite us paying for multiple pizzas and pies, it might be worth investing in take away cutlery. I had to say to your staff to not lay a hand on any of us- an unbelievable thing to have to say to staff at a place I paid to have food from and over a completely minuscule non-issue. We felt that it was all too easy for your staff to result to indignity, disrespect, vile and violent behaviour, and as a group of all people of colour, it is too obvious to us why that came so easily. By the way, there outside space was so empty when this happened, we weren't disturbing other people, we weren't acting inappropriately/loudly/drunkenly, we were just trying to have lunch after walking mam tor. I hope you all take some time to reflect on why multiple members of your staff felt so comfortable to accept our money but so quickly resort to sighing at us, sticking your hands in our food, shouting at us, shoving us and ultimately making us feel so uncomfortable...

My partner and I stayed at the George for 1 night on a Sunday, the location was ideally located and the staff were fantastic. Upon arrival we checked in and and we was shown to our room which was extremely spacious, comfortable and clean with complimentary bottles of water and little bottle of wine along with the well stocked tea, coffee and hot chocolate! We was asked if we would like to reserve a table for the evening, we were unsure as there is so many pubs and places to eat to choose from but we decided to reserve a table and can honestly say we was not disappointed! The pub was full but not overcrowded with a very nice relaxed but buzzing atmosphere! We opted for the garlic bread with cheese to share as a starter, My partner had the Roast Beef Dinner and myself the Roast Pork Dinner, all of which was well above pub grub standard and explains why the place was so full on a Sunday evening. My partner and I had a great nights sleep and when we went down for breakfast (which is included) we was really pleased with the offerings, there was a choice of cereals, yoghurt, juices and preserves and then a choice from a cooked breakfast menu! We opted for the Full English and when it came again we were not disappointed, everything was of a great quality (possibly locally sourced) and was cooked to perfection! What more can I say other than it was a fantastic night away, the staff were fantastic and we can’t wait to book our next night away there Thank you to all the team...

Stayed here previously, rooms were lovely and staff very pleasant, nice breakfast and food. However we booked a table this weekend for our friend's birthday with family, as its dog friendly, but I was very disappointed in the food. I ordered of the specials menu, creamy chicken , broccoli potato bake. It sounded delicious but in reality it was very dry, over cooked chicken and burnt cheese on top. It was black around the edges. Normally someone would ask if everything is ok with your meal, but no one did. As we were a party of 7 and everyone was eating, I just ate what I could rather than make a fuss as we had been walkingall day and I was hungry. It came with garlic bread also dry which i didn't eat and there was no creamy sauce to dip it in. When the lady came over to take our plates, she still didn't ask if everything was OK with our meals so I informed her that I was very disappointed with the meal, it was dry and overcooked. She said she would let the kitchen staff know. There was no apology and it was still charged for on the menu. We paid in full but didn't tip on this occasion. The other meals were lovely (pie, fish n chips and a burger). Perhaps stick to the main menu and not the specials as it certainly wasn't special. I'm really hoping this was a one off as its usually such a...
