Excellent children's playgrounds, good pathways for walking and cycling; a beautifully sculpted park with great floral displays, hills, valleys and weirs. A fitting memorial for the three who were drowned in July 1968's River Chew tsunami. Thank you Keynsham Council.
I was in Chewton Place on 10th July, and marooned overnight with 30 others after we were hit by the wall of water. Once the flood had receded, we met the team sent to rescue us as we walked up the access lane on the Chew valley side.

It extends quite far alo g a river borded by gym equipment, a pond- find the crocodile!- and ruins, with plenty of trees and a little woodland corner. It is also a great place for Pokemon Go players with good routes and pokestops/gyms. Once a year, Keynsham hosts a music festival there with many stalls and concerts on the bandstand and under tents. It is a child- and pet-friendly place...
Read moreA lovely large green Park with some beautiful feature trees. It is behind Keynsham High St. There are tennis courts, a skateboard zone and a small cafe next to the toilets. It also has 2 small and well maintained children's play areas with swings and climbing frames. A nice walk along the path down the slope will take you down to the weir on the River Chew. This is where you can also find the fish stairs for fish to use to get to their mating areas up river. Near the weir there is also a stage with large paved area. Disability access is very good with slopes and ramps but some are quite steep. Good place to go...
