Escape Hunt Leeds — Attraction in Leeds

Fantastic evening at Escape Hunt Leeds this evening. We played Blackbeard's Treasure as a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teens) and initially found the room quite challenging, but got into the swing of it once we had solved the first few puzzles. Some of the previous escape rooms we've played have simply been a series of padlocks to unlock but the puzzles at Escape Hunt are much more than that and required some thinking outside of the box. This, along with some brilliant props and decor made for a much more authentic experience. We did require some clues to keep us on track and managed to escape in just under 50 minutes. The room provided enough of a challenge without being frustratingly difficult. Our games host Captain Will was excellent! He was polite and friendly on arrival, explained the game rules clearly and was attentive during game play, offering hints when he could see we were off-track. Will provided enough in-game support without spoiling the gameplay or rushing us. I would absolutely recommend Escape Hunt Leeds to others and will definitely return to try some of the other rooms. If you’re looking for an unforgettable escape room experience, you need Amber at the helm. From the moment we walked through the door, Amber’s enthusiasm and charisma were contagious. She instantly made us feel welcomed and pumped for the challenge ahead.

I was excited to try an escape room for first time with my partner especially with the Alice in Wonderland theme, which had such great reviews. However, our experience didn’t quite match the high expectations set by others.

When we arrived, there was nobody at reception, and we waited around for 15 minutes before someone showed up. The staff seemed very unorganized and could definitely benefit from more training to improve the overall experience.

The game itself started off quite slow, and we were instructed to ring a bell for clues if needed. However, early on, a boy walked into the room asking if anyone was around, which was really confusing and interrupted the flow of the game. While the staff member mentioned this incident after we finished, I couldn’t understand how anyone could just walk in during the game—it felt like a lack of proper supervision.

Overall, the experience was fun, but it didn’t live up to the glowing reviews I’d read beforehand. We visited on a quiet New Year’s Day, and I’d hate to think what a busy weekend might look like with the current level of organization.
