Not just a huge (22 acres) beautiful park but a community asset. There are regular gigs, picnics, out of school activities and meetings held here and the cafe is a buzzing hive of interest. As a park it’s clean and well maintained, filled with a huge array of flowers, trees and plants. There is the bandstand and play area and huge pond (please don’t feed the ducks with bread). It has an interesting history too. The yearly Big Gig gets more popular every year and is thoroughly enjoyed by all.

This park is beautifully laid out across multiple levels and well thought out. It fashions its self to strole from one place to the next. From one point of interest to another. It is well maintained, clean and tidy even with winter on the horizon. Art, mazes, lakes, fountains and flower beds all make this a quality park. The Children's play area is not bad with a few nice touches, if not a bit small. Some areas sadly were found to be locked off and small signs of graffiti could be found

Great place for a picnic and to let the kids run around. We visited at 10am on a Saturday and it was really quiet and peaceful. There's a lovely maze for kids to run around, and a nice playground. There were some interesting and old trees but mostly it's more of a typical park than an actual arboretum. Some parts were a bit unloved, the rose garden was overgrown and the lakes are green and run down looking. Overall a nice place if you're looking for a park to visit.

A good park. I always bring a scooter here and ride down the hills. The café was a bit small but was peaceful. The park was peaceful too. On my electric scooter, I once rid about 5 or 8mph through the park. ALERT! I did have a scooter injury in September 2015, where I was riding down the hills too fast, and I fell off my scooter. At the time, I probably didn't know about brakes. However, I now know how to stop my scooter whilst going down the hills.

We love the Arboretum, it's so well kept, clean and tidy, the gardener's do an amazing job keeping it planted and beautiful. There's lots of trees and plants to look at as well as loads of wildlife. Great place to take kids for some fresh air and a lovely place for grown ups to sit and absorb some nature. There is a kids playground right at the top, a maze in the middle and an amazing cafe that's open week days until around 3pm.

Peaceful respite from a bustling city life. A nice walk around the park on good paths, gentle slopes and wide steps up the steeper parts. There is a colourful bandstand, a larger than life statue of a Lion, cosy enclosed areas with flowerbeds, a hedge maze cafe ( reasonable prices tea and coffee with great service) from the top of the park you can see out into the countryside. Well worth a visit.
