Peacock Inn — Restaurant in Lincoln

Decided to take the Mrs for some proper food since she was in hospital, due to give birth the next morning and hospital food is a blight on humanity, ladies on the bar were welcoming and friendly atmosphere was nice, went to the delightfully laid out seating area, usually I go for steak when I'm out but had an itch for a pie, the pie of the week was steak and ale and it was exquisite beyond measure, can't say I've ever gone out my way for a pie only ever had your bang in oven for 25 minute pies, but this pie, was the antithesis of all a pie could and should be, the home made chips partnered it perfectly and the mushrooms in a sauce that was unlike anything I've ever had, I was lucky enough to have a chat with Andy who explained the cooking process of the mushroom sauce and that the pays were fresh made that day, cannot say enough about how good it was, I am going back for another as soon as I can. On 28th Feb 2014, My wife and I had a small gathering of friends and decided to go for a meal in the Peacock Inn. It was my first time here and I was told that the food was good but when I arrived I found the entire establishment was very impressive from the bar staff to the waiting staff. I had ordered as a starter the Prawn Cocktail, main course I had the Sizzling Cajun Stack and for desert I had a Brownie with Baileys ice cream. I high enjoyed every single mouth full as the food was cook to perfection and so tasty. The servings were value for money, the flavours were so intense they leave you feeling a little upset as you sit there looking at a very clean plate. Great service, very clean and comfortable. Drinks aren't over priced the food prices also are well priced too. Just had Sunday lunch and was fantastic. Staff are so polite and friendly and even let us go away with a "doggy bag" of leftover meat for my dog back home which was a class act from the staff. A lovely spacious beer garden area to sit in and enjoy your drinks in the nice weather which unfortunately we didn't catch today but still it's a very clean area with no shortage of ashtrays which customers must being using to effect because their weren't any cigarette butts laid about.
