The Birdcage Pub Lincoln — Restaurant in Lincoln

I live in lincoln and I studied at Lincoln College for the past 3 years. All those 3 years I encouraged my fellow students to come to this pub to support this community. And they did, and my did we spend some money there. A week ago I would have given this pub 5 stars, now I'm very disappointed. I continued visiting this pub with my family and my little son. Last Sunday we were told by young bar tender "For future reference, all children have to leave by 7pm. " I would perhaps understand this Fridays and Saturdays when pubs are full of drunk, noisy people but Sundays? There was hardly anyone there. Us and another couple with child. (I beg they will stop coming too) You can't call this law as according to the law, children under 16 are allowed in pubs in England untill 9pm and untill 10pm in summer time. You are happy to have badly behaved dogs pissing everywhere and growling at everyone but no well behaved children? These may be your future clients for God's sake. So I class this pub as children unfriendly and therefore will not visit again as I don't feel welcome where my son is not welcome. Will go to Dog and bones as they are following the law and not making their own rules just because they dislike children. Will encourage all...

Amazing place to go for dinner or just drinks with friends.

Menu offers great tasting and handsome portions of vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes to satisfy everyones taste.

The selection of ales, ciders and wines was reasonably priced and of a good standard. It was great to be able to purchase vegan friendly ale in a bar!

Large beer garden with plenty of seating and shelter. Lovely atmosphere as there are bedding plants and hanging baskets in ever space possible.

The service was great, the bartender explained the covid rules to us and continued the evening with a smile. They offered to adjust the speaker volume as we were sat underneath but this was not necersary the music was banging.

All in all a very comforting and pleasant pub. Healthy portions packed with flavour. Great selection of alcohol and fantastic service. 10/10 will be...

First visit to this pub, heard good reviews about it. They had 3 flat ciders on. On the Friday night they had karaoke on and for the very first time I actually enjoyed it. Pretty much every singer was really good. I visited this pub 4 times over the long weekend, lovely welcoming staff. Nice beer garden. Highly recommended. I’ve not have chance to get the food but that’s meant to be very good I hear. I will be back for...
