Liverpool Central Station Shopping Area — Attraction in Liverpool

Thanks to the Avanti strikes we were forced to try the Central Station train lines!! I didn't even realise there were 2 main stations in Liverpool, having always used Lime Street.

We used the Northern line to get in from Ormskirk on the local Merseyrail trains. The station is underground so access to street level is via stairs, escalator or lift. It's a small station but 5 mins further into the city centre than Lime Street.

It has numerous eateries and shops on the street concourse and literally 3 mins walk to your left you are in the city centre.

Now I know it exists I will consider using the local trains again, over the west coast...

Interchanges with the wirral and northern lines, there are lifts to the patforms if you cannot or do not like escalators. I had a return ticket so I did not use the ticket/information office, I used the toilet which was clean considering the time of day (late afternoon). There are shops leading up to the ticket barrier, again I did not use them although, I have used the shoe repair shop in the past. Hello !! Millions of thanks to the organization and assistance of the Merseyside Train staff at Liverpool Central. Last Thursday we had a problem getting to our station.
