This place really is a hidden gem in Liverpool, and I honestly encourage everyone to visit, if only for the beautiful Victorian architecture of the building itself, and the incredible glazed tiles that seem to cover just about every surface. The gallery is always fascinating, and exhibits seem to change quite regularly, with some really more leftfield displays, seemingly drawn from the stores of Liverpool University. The museum on the top floor is superb, sitting below the vaulted timber roof, an incredible space, sadly closed for refurbishment at the moment, but due to reopen in September of 2026. The staff are lovely and helpful to a fault, and there's even a nice little coffee shop, so one can sit and appreciate the architecture with a coffee and a cake.

Great exhibition titled "The Descendants," which features people of African descent - many of whom have roots in the city going back many generations. The oral testimonials on the big television screen were an added bonus. Listening to such individuals giving insight into their experiences and perceptions of racism demonstrates that racism continues in this city in covert (and overt) ways. Ray Costello is correct that the Windrush arrival does not mark the black presence on these shores as people of African descent have been in Britain since the Roman era.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Victoria Gallery Museum Shop is a fantastic place to find unique gifts, art-inspired treasures, and locally made products. The shop is beautifully curated, with a great selection of handmade items, including my own Candle Collective UK products! It’s an honour to be stocked here alongside so many talented makers. The staff are always welcoming and knowledgeable, making the whole experience even better. Whether you’re visiting the museum or just looking for something special, it’s definitely worth stopping by!

The Victoria Gallery is a very hidden gem within Liverpool in regard to Museums, I find it to be very authentic and itself a piece of history given the building it is located within. I enjoyed the tiled walls and aesthetic which it seems has been kept as original as possible, there’s also a Cafe located inside alongside an Information Desk, this location is very educational and I would recommend this place to any history enthusiast or someone wanting to expand their knowledge!

I like visiting museums and historical places so since I was visiting Liverpool I had to drop by to see the artwork. To begin with, the building looks stunning! I found this museum interesting and the artwork was incredible. A lovely cozy café past the entrance and very helpful knowledgeable staff. Overall a nice place to visit in Liverpool.

Small museum, quite interesting. I really liked the engraving of silver on the dishes of the 19th-20th century, the incredible beauty of the work. There are various expositions, a meditation room - a bright room with visualization of the sky accompanied by calm sounds of nature, paintings, a rather cozy cafe.
