Unfortunately I had a quite bad experience today at this salon. I went to get an acrylic removal+manicure and polish. My appointment took about two hours, which was fine, however when I left the salon i got home with smudged nail polish. Literally almost on all of my fingers the fresh polish was damaged and I could rub all of it off without any effort. On top of that, while getting my nails done, we noticed one of my fingernail was broken. I asked the nail lady whether we could cut it as short as possible eliminating the chance of my nail completely breaking off, but she advised me to let her fix it with acrylic paste. I asked her whether it would hold, she said yes. As soon as I got home and got ready to do some chores, they snapped off. All of my nails had to be cut down because of how thin they got. I realise that I had acrylics on before, but based on previous experiences, my nails only tend to break off when overfiled. I went back to get a refund, but I was told off since the salon apparently has a āno-refundā policy (which is NOT mentioned on the website, otherwise I would not have gone back claiming one). They said my nails breaking off is my fault and I should have known the polish was not dry when I left the salon after the nail lady finished my nails. They did offer me to fix it, but I said no since I had no guarantee it will be dry this time when I leave. The receptionist lady who took a look at my nails immediately said my nails are fine after taking ONE look at them (one of my nailbed was literally bloody). I paid 27Ā£ for this service. It is a shame that this is how they deal with a clearly bad service, because the staff was really nice during my appointment. When my boyfriend tried to help me to explain how this situation is kind of ridiculous, since I got my nails done approx. 3 hours ago and the pictures show what state they were in, the receptionist lady started to fight with him criticising his tone. Based on previous negative feedback on their google site, they will comment back something...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience at Bella&Bello was mixed. I stopped by and booked my appointment in advance, showed my hair and explained what I wanted, and we agreed on a fee. I also said I would wash it myself, which I did. When the day came, I walked in with newly washed hair which they insisted on washing again. Whatever.
The issues started with my haircut. I explained I had been growing my hair out for over a year for it to be long enough to finally have it all one length. My hairdresser, Bella, was so kind and I could see how much she wanted to give me the best possible result, but the communication was not great. She asked if she could add layers in the back for volume, and I said it would have to be the tiiiniest bit, because I wanted one length and NOT an angled bob. When she dried my hair, she styled it so it looked amazing. Problem is, when my wavy hair Ā«settledĀ» I could see how much she layered it. It now flicks this way and that, and I feel like Iāve just been set back months and have to continue the process of growing it out before I can get what I asked for.
My biggest issue at this salon however was that when I was about to pay, she first asked for more than we had agreed on. It was still a fair price for a haircut, so I didnāt hassle, but then another lady at the salon - a colleague? - started telling her to charge more. They were discussing how much to charge me right in front of me, and it was so uncomfortable and unprofessional. I ended up paying the higher fee which, percentage wise, was a hell of a lot more than what I was told to pay when I booked the appointment.
I sent them an email after the fact expressing all of this but I never heard back.
Very long story short; Bella is very nice, and I felt very welcome. The quality of service is good, but communication could be better. Communication and professionalism around booking and...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePOV: you need do you you nails because itās an emergency and you try the āsalonā next to the office because itās late. I was used to do acrylic but because this place wasnāt offering this service, I booked for a normal shellac. I left after 50 mins with my nails completely ruined and with the acrylic on top because they didnāt know how to remove acrylic. Their excuse was ābut you booked for shellac not for acrylic removalā????? This means they saw my nails and they werenāt able to tell the difference between shellac and acrylic? Or that they tried even if they knew werenāt able? That place is not a professional nail salon as they said, but they charge you as they are. I was supposed to spend Ā£28, thanks got I got a refund. They donāt have a clue how to do nails, maybe they are good with the other services but for sure no one has a professional qualification as a nail technician. They shouldnāt be offering nails services at this point, was just a waste of time, I left the salon crying because my hands were ruined and one nail has been polished too much and hurts. The two girls who tried to fix that disaster were quite nice and realised they did a mess, while the girl at the till was quite rude as she was yelling at me even if she was saying āI donāt want to argueā?? I guess she was upset because I decided to leave as it was late, and she said āno we are trying but you want to leaveā ?? Honestly they have ZERO excuses. That place is always empty, now I know why. For her it was my fault because I didnāt book the right service. Lesson: make sure they know how to do they job and that are professionals before going.
I would have left this review on Treatwell but vacuate the appoint has been...
