Carnaby Street is a vibrant and iconic street in the heart of London's Soho district. It is known for its eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, and bars, as well as its lively atmosphere and colorful street art. In terms of shopping, Carnaby Street has something for everyone. There are a number of high-street brands, such as Dr Martens, Vans, and Urban Outfitters, as well as a good selection of independent boutiques and vintage stores. You can find everything from clothes and shoes to accessories and homeware. Carnaby Street is also a great place to eat and drink. There are a wide variety of restaurants and bars to choose from, serving everything from British classics to international cuisine. You can also find a number of cafes and coffee shops where you can relax and people-watch. In addition to its shopping and dining scene, Carnaby Street is also known for its lively atmosphere and street art. The street is often bustling with activity, and there are always new and interesting things to see. Carnaby Street is also home to a number of iconic murals and graffiti pieces, which add to the street's unique character. Overall, Carnaby Street is a great place to visit for a day of shopping, dining, and people-watching. It is a vibrant and eclectic street with something to offer everyone. Here are some specific things that I like about Carnaby Street: * The wide variety of shops and restaurants, catering to all tastes and budgets. * The lively atmosphere and colorful street art. * The convenient location in the heart of London. * The historical significance of the street, as a center of fashion and culture in the 1960s and 1970s. If you are looking for a unique and enjoyable shopping experience in London, I highly recommend visiting Carnaby Street.

Carnaby street still has the Christmas decorations up as of the 10/1/2023. This street has got to be one of the coolest streets in London. I think this street along with Camden market, portobello road in west london has to be places you have to visit again and again. Londoners tend not to look through the eyes of tourist but maybe we should do more of that. I didn’t take loads of photos of the shops just the decorations but in my next visit I will add and update this post. The nearest underground I think is Oxford Circus. If you enter from the internet be where you can see Liberty’s it’s got to be one of the most beautiful buildings, department stores in london I didn’t go in today but just looking at it from the outside is a treat.

I was in the area and thought that I'd take a trip down memory lane, or in this case Carnaby Street - somewhere I had first visited about half a century ago when the fashion was a little different. Actually it didn't take me that long to walk down the street as I was only doing the very briefest of window shopping. I was just curious to see how the fashions have changed as depicted in a street which I used to consider to be the height of fashion decadence. Many of the shops are now international branded names with the odd special clothing shop, chain coffee shops and even a nice, older, traditional pub. I didn't spend long here before moving on down to Piccadilly Circus, Soho & China Town.

Carnaby Street during Christmas is a festive marvel. The iconic, vibrant street transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with sparkling lights and captivating decorations. The unique storefronts showcase creative and themed displays, adding a touch of holiday magic to the trendy boutiques. The atmosphere is buzzing with cheerful shoppers, and the street performers contribute to the lively ambiance. The array of Christmas-themed pop-ups and seasonal treats make it a delightful destination for both locals and tourists. Carnaby Street during Christmas radiates charm, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking a merry and stylish holiday experience in the heart of London.

Carnaby Street is a pedestrianised shopping street in Soho in the City of Westminster, Central London. Close to Oxford Street and Regent Street, it is home to fashion and lifestyle retailers, including many independent fashion boutiques. Carnaby Street derives its name from Karnaby House, which was built in 1683 to the east. The origin of the name is unknown. The street was probably laid out in 1685 or 1686. First appearing in the ratebooks in 1687, it was almost completely built up by 1690 with small houses. A market was developed in the 1820s. In his novel, Sybil (1845), Benjamin Disraeli refers to "a carcase-butcher famous in Carnaby-market".
