Excellent 2 night stay at Azteca Hotel & 1 day in Chessington! Had a standard Monkey Temple room looking over Amazu. Checked in online & staff were very welcoming to help issue keys on arrival, via key collection screen. Room was lovely & clean, great theaming. Window which opened a little, easy to use air conditioning which was essential when it was 28degs outside. Quiet and temp to 19degs which felt quite cold. Kettle, tea & coffee. Staff are more than happy to provide extra milk if you run out. Fridge under the desk was really handy. Not sure all rooms have this & was a nice surprise. TV had most usual freeview channels & TV in kids bedroom area too. Kids bunks also had a third pull out bed. WiFi was very good compared to other places we’ve stayed at. We ate at the Safari restaurant, lovely with views into the Wanyama area – spot the zebras, ostriches or giraffes! You can also walk around the area & there’s a small kids playground. Ensure you book the restaurant online in peak season. Buffet breakfast was a hot selection (eggs, sausages, beans) , cereals, pain choc, fruit & toast with a selection of jams. Staff were on hand and very helpful. Dinner was fine, it was mainly tea for the kids, bit slow to be served, but food was nice. Hotel guests have access to Chessington park queuing from 8.45am via Azteca gate just by the Temple restaurant. Staff let you in from 9am with ticket and bag checks. A selection of rides are open for guests between 9-10am. We preorderd a photo digipass and found it great for a whole day of ride pics. Activate it at the first photo booth you use, where they’ll issue you a QR for the rest of the day. Azteca Gate closes at 10am, so return to the hotel is via Lodge Entrance. In the evening Amazu play area is open at 6pm until 7 or 8pm. The park will always be very busy over the Summer, the staff were doing their very best to keep things moving and up and running asap if there were any technical problems. Download the app to view ride times and plan what rides are most important. Dragon Fury and Vampire were queuing before 10am. Have fun!

Summary: Inconsiderate loud families galore; no pillows; similar to a prison experience; Azteca maze; great restaurant staff; I wouldn’t stay here again - go to Premier Inn and travel into the park. I don’t know where to start with this review. I can say that I have a small understanding of how Charles Bronson feels on a nightly basis. My daughter complained through the night about the uncomfortable mattress. It seems to be similar to material of a school PE blue gym mat (in picture). The night was like a Belmarsh prison experience. Up until midnight there were a number of inconsiderate families running along the hallways, shouting and screaming. It was ridiculous. My partner didn’t want me coming down to reception again and just put it down to it being a ‘family hotel’ and should be expected. I strongly disagree with this. There were no pillows on my bed which meant venturing to reception at 9pm to request one. I was told one would be immediately brought up. After not receiving a pillow, I headed back to reception to cancel my request as didn’t want my children’s sleep affected. I will add the treasure hunt in the room is a great feature. The kids loved it…even though I had to call reception for the answer in the end 😅 The Azteca hotel is aptly named as it is like a maze. To get to reception means leaving my room on level one, going up to level 2 so I can walk across a bridge to get to the next hotel and then down to the ground floor. Or - head straight down from level one and head out the side of the hotel and walk around to the front. This makes the wander down even more annoying when linked with the two trips I had to make to request pillows. The biggest highlight of the hotel stay must be the restaurant staff. We had a lovely breakfast and staff made an amazing effort with my daughter who turned 7 on the day. They gave her a lanyard, birthday card and little cake decorated with little marshmallows. It was a lovely gesture which I am grateful for. These are the moments that stick with the kids for life.

The Aztec Hotel was good value for money. Check in was not until 3pm but I checked in via my phone and got a text when the room was ready. We got our keys printed and headed in with our bags around 1 pm. The space was slightly smaller than previously stayed in Safari hotel but overall decor well suited for the theme. Main bed was comfortable and lots of room in the children's bed. Unfortunately not alot of storage for the children's clothing to be stored. Wardrobe area with limited hanging space - ask for extra hangers if they allow. Iron and ironing board is provided- which is helpful. Hairdryer is also included in the room. The room came with separate TV's in each room , a locked safe in the children's room and a small yet very useful fridge in the main room. The bathroom was clean with a nice deep tub to soak in. It has a rain head shower as well as a detachable on. Bath mat and towels were provided and replace by staff if needed. The cleaning staff were very good and replace towels and linen daily. Hoovered and replace complimentary shampoo and conditioner. Only Negative I would mention is although the room was good there were still some small work to be done. The ceiling was patchy from filling it and painting one patch at a time ( had to be a good 14 spots redone) some the paint and plaster was chipping off in the bathroom but very minor., It didn't effect our stay and overall was a great experience for some R&R after a fun filled day. Downstairs is the buffet style restaurant- Temple Bar which had plenty of food - Carvery and in the morning - Full English & Continental plus extras.

We recently stayed at the Aztecs Hotel for our daughters birthday and booked into a themed Aztec room with separate kids area. The parking was easy with plenty of space and is also free. Booking in took a while due to long queues, about 20 minutes. After which you could transfer your luggage to a porter to pickup later or simply head to the park and come back at 3pm to pickup you room keys. There are 2 hotels linked, the Safari and Azteca. Sadly the Azteca is furthest away from check-in that requires 1 lift access and a long walk. Not great with a lot of luggage, but bearable. The room itself was fantastic, featuring a full Aztec theme on the walls, floor and furniture. The kids area features a TV and safe, to which there is a challenge to complete to gain access to special items. There is a double bunk bed with trundle bed at the bottom, and each area has its own light. The bathroom is great, featuring large sink and mirror, toilet (of course) and bath/shower configuration. There are 2 showers in the bath, one for washing hair that detaches and a rainfall shower. All very clean, only slight grip is the water could be hotter for shaving etc. The main bedroom area features a double bed, TV, large dresser area, a large treasure chest, open wardrobe, a full length mirror and smaller mirror. You also have an ironing board and iron and a hair dryer. (Luxury compared to most) The bed is comfortable, if not on the firm side. The view from the window was of the play park/small animal area I believe is called Amaza? Or similar. The staff were friendly, if not a little under trained as it seemed most of the staff were new or under staffed. An oversight at Christmas I'm sure.. We ate at the buffet restaurant and found it to be ok, although half the items stated on the menu were not present and no juice for the kids. You needed to buy this from the bar!! We would choose the Al a carte restaurant next time. There is a pool too, a main one for adults and a splash zone for little ones. Some of the interactive water items were not working. Although the pools were clean and had Life guards present. There is also a little ones pool beside the main pool which is nice and a jacuzzi. (This was closed) You also had a steam room and sauna, both of which were on, nice and clean. The changing rooms are far to small tho, with lockers pressed up against the changing room doors. Although they were clean. Overall we had a good experience and...

I visited the Azteca Hotel at Chessington with my husband and 2 year old son. ||Finding the hotel itself and parking was easy enough, as was getting our room key card which was a case of scanning your qr code which has been emailed, confirming your details then the card is released. We were surprised we had to pay £5 for the key though. ||We were staying in one of the Monkey rooms in the Azteca. The room itself was a mission to find, with minimal signage directing us where to go. As two people with a decent amount of nous, there was absolutely no way of knowing which direction we needed to go so we still had to ask two members of staff which way our room was. ||The room itself was decent enough, a good size with a separate kids section. They didn’t hold back on the monkey theme which our son seemed to enjoy. A good sized bathroom and the room was spotless. ||There is a safe in the room which we didn’t actually need to use, but there was a treasure hunt type game that asked you to find clues around the room in order to open the safe and there would be a prize inside. Now going back to the decent amount of nous that myself and my husband like to think we have, we must have tried 20 plus combinations to try to crack the code but still weren’t getting it, so a call to reception to ask for the code was required (they answered on the third attempt). No we’re not ashamed, one of the clues was hidden under the bed. But we needn’t have bothered, there were two Freddos in the safe. ||We didn’t eat our evening meal in the restaurant so can’t comment on that, we opted to drive to a pub down the road. ||Breakfast - in the morning we just happened to be looking at the website to try to find the breakfast times as these weren’t listed anywhere and saw you actually have to book a slot for breakfast, resulting in a mad dash to try to book. Luckily we managed to get a table booked for the next hour. ||Breakfast itself was chaos. Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived so we had to stand around while it was getting set up. There was a good amount of food and drinks although the quality was pretty poor. There were so many people running around the place we quickly ate and got out of there. ||The staff were friendly...

Disappointing Booked a weekend stay from friday to Sunday for my 5yo's birthday surprise. We planned to visit the Safari park and use the swimming facilities and splash pool during our stay. Took the 2 hour trip there building up the excitement and surprise for my son's birthday showing him pictures of the pool, room etc, I'd also packed my gym kit to make use of gym. Checked in only to be told the pool and gym were being renovated and not available. When I made the point of saying I wasn't informed prior to my arrival (this was one of the reasons I booked) the reply was "it's on our website" however my booking was made through a secondary platform which should not have made a difference. To add insult to injury their welcome letter given on arrival states that the pool and gym are open from 7th Jan -my check in was 24th Jan! In the interest of not spoiling my son's birthday any further we continued with the stay. The room was pleasant and clean but you can hear absolutely everything through the walls and ceilings. Visited the Safari park the following day where we thought we'd utilise our 2-4-1 entry voucher to be told we can only use this when the actual theme park is open, I stated this wasn't highlighted in the t&c's I received a pathetic apology and shoulder shrug so spent £45 on entry for 3 ppl. Thankfully GoApe was open so spent the £35 there so the weekend wasn't a complete waste of time and brought some memorable pleasure for a 5yo. I raised all these points to the Chesington customer service team via email as per their automated responses only to be offered an insulting 5 tickets to go back and use the swimming pool only. After at least 3 emails someone eventually apologised to me for being misinformed at least. Wholly disappointed with the way my complaints have been handled considering the purpose and cost of my stay. After the 4/5th email when I declined the "goodwill" gesture and stated I'd escalate was I then told the feedback would be escalated internally. I won't hold my breath given the service I've received so far and I will not return given the false advertising and complete lack of empathy and...
