Review: Just got off Rattlesnake and honestly—it’s a bit of a mixed bag. The theming is great: you board a mine cart and dive into a dusty, wild west-style pit with wooden structures, animatronics, and tight corners that make it feel like a proper adventure. It’s got that 90s Chessington charm, and the ride still looks good for its age. But the ride itself? Brutal. It’s a classic wild mouse coaster, so you expect sharp turns and sudden drops—but the braking is harsh. Like, full-body jolt harsh. You get thrown around in the corners and then slammed by block brakes that feel like hitting a wall. It’s fun in a chaotic way, but not exactly smooth. Queue time was around 40 minutes, and the line moves slowly because the ride capacity isn’t great. Staff were friendly and kept things flowing, but it’s definitely one of the bumpier experiences in the park. If you’re into old-school coasters and don’t mind a bit of whiplash, it’s worth doing for the theming alone. But if you’re looking for comfort or a modern thrill, this one might feel more punishment than pleasure. If your wondering why I’ve said I’ve come off rattlesnake at 2 am I rode it a couple of days ago and couldn’t be arsed to...
Read moreAn oldie but a goodie here at the theme park. Rattlesnake is your typical rollercoaster with lots of twists and turns, lots of drops, and a decent hill climb to get you started.
The theme throughout the ride and queue system is that of an old gold mine, with lots of flickering lambs, exposed track for you to see as the ride passes, and a few themed caves to pass through.
The wait time here is often around 40 minutes but the team do a good job trying to get as many cars dispatched as possible.
One word of warning, the chairs are hard and not the most comfortable, and given the twists and turns you can end up feeling a little sore after. Not advised for those with neck or...
Read moreEasily my favourite ride at Chessington. It is the perfect balance of a thrill and family coaster... Not too scary but enjoyable enough the get the rush. As others have said, it can be jarring on the back and neck so best avoided if you suffer any issues related. Great drops, abrupt stops and a genuine feeling you will fly off the track as the cart takes sharp turns at it's...
