I often eat here at lunchtime. I have a jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw, although the coleslaw changed post pandemic and is no longer ordinary coleslaw, or quiche and salad with a cappuccino. All very nice. As I use a crutch there is always a member of staff who offers to help me. Unfortunately I decided to try breakfast here for the first time. It will be the last time. If you are vegetarian it will be a disappointment. As a meat eater you have sausages, bacon and black pudding as well as the vegetables whereas a vegetarian has vegetarian sausages which a vegetarian would not eat - hard enough to cut let alone eat - and, in theory, a vegetarian black pudding which was, in reality , tiny bits of burnt something or other. The mushrooms were lovely, the beans were fine, the tomatoes were stone cold and there were only fried eggs. According to the chef scrambled eggs would only last 5 minutes so they don't offer them. Isn't it amazing that buffet restaurants the world over manage to have scrambled eggs out for breakfast?? Then the toast. I asked for toast, the man serving said he would do 2 slices for me and 2 for my friend. but then let another member of staff, who clearly knew she hadn't done any toast, take my toast and give it to a customer behind me in the queue. Then he put 2 slices in front of me, going cold, while waiting for another 2. The second 2 slices were not toasted, presumably because he was now rushing,i ended up as 2 slices of bread in the bin. and we went to sit down. It was not an experience I will ever repeat. Such a shame as...

I much preferred the options of choosing what you want with 7 or so items but now you’re forced to go for a more expensive breakfast.
£16.79 for a cooked breakfast & a coffee is not good. The food is ok but not amazing. Cheap hovis bread used to save money. Sausages definitely not butchers sausages.
I’ve been coming here for years but sadly these much higher prices make going to a local cafe offering a better breakfast & quality coffee a lot more justifiable.
As usual, there are not enough staff at checkout, so when it starts getting busy, you have to queue for 8-10 mins to pay, by which time your food is getting cold. Please help those with hot food be able to check out faster.
To the owners, you should be incentivising people with a deal on a breakfast & hot drink. Staff said many people were complaining re the new worse breakfast menu/ higher prices so let’s see if you listen & support the regulars & not try...
Read moreHave been coming here every day for my brunch/lunch the past two weeks as I’m working really close and it’s convenient. I Was asked to review yesterday and thought to myself “you probably won’t like it”.
Alas here I am and It’s my last time coming here today even tho I’m still in the area for two weeks. It’s not a restaurant but a cafeteria. A restaurant tends to be personal and a cafeteria tends to be run like a machine. The other day I fancied some coleslaw and I was told I had to get the £5 salad buffet in it’s entirety So that didn’t happen. Today they have swapped out the ladle of beans for a two table spoon ramekin. Swapping out portion size to pay for some poor sod to fill 200 ramekins and make sure they look presentable, What a management decision. Avoid christmases in that household haha.
These couple of bits sound trivial but at £13 for 7 items and a coffee you would be best off finding a local cafe where you will get bigger for less.
On a good note. I absolutely champion the diversity...
