I have to wonder if Lane7 is trying a bold new strategy where it offers bowling with no pins, basketball with no hoops, crane games with no prizes, and alcohol with no glassware. All while robbing you with its ridiculous prices.
After all, it's made the baffling decision to completely mute the venue's Pump It Up cabinet, removing one of the dance game's biggest elements.
Not only does this suck for the rhythm game community—why you would want to alienate some of your most regular customers is beyond me—but it sucks for casuals who will see the K-Pop videos being displayed and throw £3 at the game only to realise they can't hear a thing.
I can only begin to wonder what's spurred such hostile behaviour from higher ups. Arcades are meant to be loud, full of life, and nobody will treat your machines better than those who understand them the most... like the rhythm game community they so clearly have some kind of disdain for.
I'm curious whether this decision breaks any sort of agreement between Andamiro and the venue. A muted dance game is a useless one, and will no doubt be losing money for both parties. I only hope the decision is overturned soon enough. But considering how petty and spiteful Lane7 executive management seem to be, I'm not holding my breath.
For now, just go to Babylon Park down the...
Read moreDisappointing experience on a Friday evening, I was bowling with a group and we had pre booked 3 lanes, we were 15 minutes late to our booking so our time got cut short on one of the lanes only due to a reservation coming for our lane. However our other two lanes were fine and our group continued to finish their rounds. The floor manager gave us a 15 minute warning that the next booking was coming, but cut our lane off after 8 minutes only and let a couple start their booking on our lane without notice, despite there being 3 vacant lanes next to ours whereby the couple could have been swapped to in order for us to finish our set like the other 2/3rds of our group. When we asked if we could continue on an empty lane, the manager informed it was not possible due to bookings coming later. It was 17 quid for 5 bowls, not worth it & we should not have had to miss out considering there was vacant lanes for the couple to start their game. I totally get it if the venue was fully booked and there was people waiting for their reservation, but this was not the case so was not value for money and not very considerate of the bookings...
Read moreI wanted to share some feedback regarding the Pump It Up machine at your venue, which has been a favorite spot of mine for some time. It’s always been a place I’ve enjoyed visiting specifically to play this game.
However, during my visit on 30/05/25, I noticed that the sound on the Pump It Up machine was not functioning. This significantly affects the gameplay experience, as the game relies heavily on music to guide timing and coordination. Much like Guitar Hero, where music is essential to play properly, Pump It Up requires players to follow the rhythm and beat with their feet.
Without sound, not only is it difficult for experienced players to enjoy the game, but it also creates confusion for new players who may not understand how to engage with the machine effectively.
I hope this can be looked into, as restoring the sound would greatly enhance the overall experience and continue to make Lane 7 an enjoyable destination for rhythm game...
