I have visited Stratford Westfield MAC twice within a month and was lucky enough to have Ria do my makeup on botb occasions! The first visit was on a whim. I was met with Ria's big bright smile and welcome. She kindly informed me that typically I would need to book to have my make up done. However as it was my 40th birthday she kindly asked a manager who agreed to allow her to do my full face. I gave her an indication of what I would be wearing that evening and the rest is history!! Ria is a brilliant makeup artist who talked me through each stage of my transformation and made sure I was happy with each stage. The results were beyond my imagination!!!! I felt like a million dollars and was so pleased. It just made my 40th even better than it was already going. Needless to say the response from strangers, my friends and family when we went out to dinner was frigging great. She talked me through the products I went on to buy to create the look at home.
I was soooo impressed by her work that I went back to the store a month later (still without booking, sorry) in the hope Ria would be working and I could get another transformation look for a wedding reception I was attending that evening. Luckily my prayers were answered and her manager (blonde lady who also seemed really sweet) kindly called her and agreed for her to do my eyes. Luckily I nipped in at a time whereby she was allowed to do my full face again as there were enough staff on the shop floor to do my full face by the time she had done my eyes... RESULT!!!!
Ria has a truly beautiful aura about her. She is knowledgeable about the MAC brand and is truly proud to be part of their team and loves being a make up artisit. Her passion is infectious. I love the way she works with ease and has all these ideas about how to highlight my best features. MAC Stratford you are very lucky to have this young lady on your team. She represents everything I know MAC to be, having been a loyal customer since my early 20's. I really hope she goes far within the company as she is AMAZING!!!
One small gripe about the booking system which has nothing to do with the Stratford store or its employees. Please can head office seriously consider changing the drop down option so that Stratford Westfield appears with the rest of the London stores. I suspect you must be loosing sales and customers for something that can likely be sorted quite quickly at the back end. Had no one told me I would not have realised you have to scroll right to the end to find Stratford Wesfield in order to book online.
The Startford store team deserve a huge round of applause particularly Ria and the blonde manager! I have been raving about Ria to anyone willing to listen. I will see you soon and promise to use the booking system next time.

Read moreI'm writing to express my full disgust and disappointment towards Mac and the awful customer experience ever delivered by simple shop employees. I walked in in Mac at Westfield Stratford looking for a foundation full coverage and I ask a member of staff to help. She would ask one of these so called "make up artist" to assist and she'd just say "I'm almost on my break I don't have much time" right in front of my face. I just pretend I hadn't heard that and explained what I was looking for. She asks me to sit down and starts trying few foundations on my skin, pretty much in a rush and looking forward to her break. I select ProLong Wear Water proof while she is also guaranteeing this would last up to 18 hours. Then she closes the conversation with a cold "anything else I can do for you????" and I just let her go and enjoy her little break. I go to the till to pay and the cashier without any smile or salutation whispers the final price. I ask to repeat as I couldn't hear and super rude she shout loud the price and then looks at me in a challenging way. I left the shop disappointed and reported the two employees to a girl who I thought was a kind of supervisors and she clearly didn't care at all of what I just told her. But that's not all, I spent £48 for a foundation and powder which are actually total rubbish! They barely last 3 hours and after this time the skin starts flaking! Peeling totally off! What the hell is this? Who recruits this miserable women totally useless and full of pride? Overpriced , overrated , over estimated. Disgusting customer service, ignorant and unskilled employees who I'd see much more suitable for a filthy public toilet cleaning service. Read moreI visited today after reading online that MAC train their staff to accommodate for trans customers. I usually get a little worried visiting stores even with the knowledge that they are welcoming to all customers but stepping into the store erased all of it.
I was greeted by Zara (forgive me if I misremember/misspell her name) who was lovely to me after I explained that I was told MAC accommodates for trans customers (I'm not very visibly the gender I identify as yet).
The whole time, she was incredibly kind and tactful and did not make me feel like I was any different from anyone else who would shop there. She went above and beyond by sitting me down and giving me the lip service when I said I was interested in lip glosses. She informed me what colours go well with my skin and gave personal recommendations of what might work for me and I went with it.
I ended up buying a lip gloss (20% summer sale!) she recommended me that I liked the look of. I would not have bought anything had I not had such a wonderful customer service experience as I've visited other shops' beauty sections before and never had anyone come up to me to ask if I needed anything. Thank you for making my first makeup experience so affirming and pleasant. She and your company are a true testament to what people hope for when brands say they are inclusive.
