The Tumbling Bay Playground in Stratford's Olympic Park is brilliant for children. There are two areas; one for young children with slides, sand, walkways and water pumps, (take your wellies). The older children's area consists of tree walkways, ropes and nets for climbing, slides and areas for hiding. Nearby the lovely Timber Lodge has clean toilets and baby changing facilities but The Unity Kitchen also housed in the Timber Lodge has an adult menu when it comes to food, but considering they are right next door to the new playgrounds their menu offers NOTHING for young children, I have spoken to other parents and one reported the problem as long ago as August, and my visit was last week in October and still nothing has been done to accommodate young diners. The playground is well-maintained, with plenty of space for children to run around and play safely. The equipment is designed with children's safety in mind, and there are plenty of benches and seating areas for parents to relax and keep an eye on their children.
The playground itself is incredibly well-designed, with a range of equipment that is suitable for children of all ages. There are slides, swings, climbing frames, and sandpits, as well as a water play area that is perfect for hot summer days. The playground also features an adventure trail that takes children through a wooded area.
The proximity of the Tumbling Bay Playground to shops and Olympic venues is another major plus. Families can easily combine a trip to the playground with a visit to the nearby Westfield Shopping Centre or Olympic Park, making for a fun and full day out. The Olympic venues themselves are also worth exploring, with plenty of opportunities to learn about the history of the Games and the sporting events that took...
