Brixton is known for being a dangerous part of London, however the only daylight robbery I suffered during my time there was as a result of the most unethical and fraudulent landlord on the face of the earth.
Node have a perfectly polished modus operandi to suck every last penny from your budget and deposit, they appear to believe a deposit is another form of guaranteed rent, their services include trying to scam you out of paying for the replacement of the kitchen hobs due to standard use, demanding you pay for a new fridge due to a microscopic dent quoted at silicon valley start up valuation multiples, demanding payment for a new sofa due to a made up scratch for which they tried to charge us x3 the market value for the worst and most uncomfortable, tiny and injury inducing sofa in history - no amount of corporate ergonomics training could prepare me for sitting on that rock.
All of these demands conveniently made after the JOINT in-person check out review conducted with the landlord and after the check-out report had been submitted to the deposit scheme. There's more: After you leave, they STILL chase you for payments you've already paid, treating you like a criminal just in case you fall for the trap and succumb to the fear they instigate in you. Node is a great case study of how not to treat tenants and luckily the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) stands between you and the Node cartel to ensure your rights are upheld.
After fighting our case hard, we won. Having all our deposit returned and ratifying the fact Node attempted to deceive and scam us out of our hard-earned cash.
If you are considering a move to Node,...
Read moreMy now wife lived here so can’t give it 5 stars as I did not live here. However, the staff seemed lovely and the facilities were great when I came to visit, also she told me that the staff were very responsive when it came to queries. Great amenities in the rooms, especially the 4 hob cooker, though bathroom was rather small! Did have issues with the door camera as it couldn’t scan my QR code pass when it was raining, so had to ask her to come down and let me in. You can tell Node were trying to find new ways to improve since opening, I.e. parcel locker facilities.
The only main issues was that there was an issue with the extractor fan in the bathroom which was not resolved for most of her tenancy, though Harpreet was apologetic about the issue. The other was that there were times she had to run or walk fast back from the bus station or the nearby train station after late night at work or after a night out, which made her rather scared.
Taking on everything, she recommends Node to anyone, and has mentioned Node to some of...
Read moreI absolutely love living at Node Brixton. My one-bedroom apartment is a perfect size and has tons of storage, and also looks really great. Location is very good, close to lots of fun bars/ breweries, restaurants/ cafes and good transport links.
Harpreet, the community manager, is amazing. She works incredibly hard to ensure that that all of us residents have everything we need, including organising work orders and making the public areas so lovely and inviting. Harpreet also organises an event every month for the residents, such as pizza & game nights, and drinks at a local bar, which has created such a great community within the building.
I am a wheelchair user and Harpreet is always offering to help and has made me feel very welcomed in the building from the start. Cannot recommend Node...
