AVOID THIS CLUB AT ALL COSTS, poor customer service from some of the staff, particularly a rude, loud American/Canadian woman and a short curly hair caucasian man who will shout at you if you don't do things his way.
Neither of them has basic customer service skills; they would be better off working at McDonald's and KFC. You are better off going to other climbing centres, in all honesty, as this establishment has gone downhill fast, the customer service I experienced was Lazy and Discriminatory. I have explained below. I would give zero stars if possible.
On Monday 24th March between 5 pm/530pm, I tried to access the club, and there was a line of people waiting. One of your staff members was trying to deal with the line of people, the other staff member completely ignored the customers and was faffing about with the coffee machine. He then asked me to fill out the health and safety climbing form, which I did; I was adamant about paying first because of the long line of people. I then left because I am autistic and was getting overwhelmed with the situation and his lack of explanation. I stated to the employee that I would come back in 15 minutes.
I came back 15 minutes later to access the facility in the hope that the line had calmed down. The staff member then shouted at me in a patronising way, accusing me of being rude without any explanation of why I was supposedly rude. I tried to explain my side of the story, but he cut me off completely and just kept yelling at me, threatening to ban me from the club! This is on CCTV. Due to my autism, I have been severely distressed and anxious and have had suicidal ideations as a result of this incident. I struggle with loud spaces and confrontation, because of this, I generally keep to myself and am not very social with people. I do not know the staff member by name but he is Caucasian, has curly hair, and is quite short, I can identify him if need be. The customer service I received was conducive to that of Mcdonalds or KFC, not a climbing establishment that charges in the region of £70.00 per month.
I have contacted my Lawyer for advice on grounds of...
Read moreThis place is designed to individuals fitness levels from basic to advanced. It's been a long time since I've done bouldering and happy that im doing it again. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable they make you feel calm if you are feeling slightly nervous. Members of staff try their best to know you on a personal level. Those that haven't done bouldering before you are in safe hands, you will have an introduction video which must be watched pre registration this is 5 minutes long. Also, you can find this online as it's highly recommended to watch. It teaches you health and safety, and techniques to follow. Prices are split by, pay as you go, bulk buy, pre paid membership, and recurring membership. This also depends if you go during peak and off peak times. You can hire trainers for bouldering at the rate of £3.80 (bring your own socks) or purchase new ones at the venue. They have a small shop. Due to popularity, there have been developments at the venue. You have a variety of bouldering rooms all range at different levels. There are facilities which include lockers, toilets and a mini gym where you can lift weights. I do recommend to come with friends as they can always guide and give you that moral support when climbing. It was such a fun day the atmosphere was fantastic. I'm making the most of Vauxhall as I won't be here for too long and hope to find another bouldering place like this. Highly...
Read moreFirstly, I just want to say the customer service and the staff there really deserve 5 stars, they are all lovely, professional and great teachers. However my one star review comes from the hygiene of the place and the other people using the centre. On arrival, the whole place smelt so badly of sweaty feet and Body Odour that I was retching a few times - there is no adequate ventilation so there is no fresh air circulating around the centre which is a big NO NO from me. I spotted climbers climbing with bare feet (who knows if they had a fungal infection etc which increases spread of infection) and in the cafe area where the lockers are, a climber was cutting the calluses on his hands with a fingernail clipper with the dead skin falling to the cafe floor. The climbing shoes I rented also smelt heavily of wet foot odour and clearly had not been deodorised. These were adults who clearly had no sense of proper hygiene practices and that says a lot about the people who use this place for climbing. Until the place is well-ventilated and the users start paying attention to their hygiene, sadly I wont be returning. This is such a shame because I really liked my teacher and I...
