I’m going to review the features within this shopping centre and then give my final review. Starting with:
Size: This shopping centre has 3 floors excluding the ground floor - some shops also have extra floors within them. The sheer size of this shopping centre is extensive to say the least, walking from one end to another on each floor takes a few minutes, but that’s obviously multiplied by the size of the crowds – which I’ll go into later. But overall the size of this Westfield if more than satisfactory as it feels very spacious and each shop has enough room to feel unique and provide a different vibe and atmosphere.
Customer Service: The employees within the mall are all generally very friendly. The customer service point at the entrance of the mall does a great job of assisting people with information in regards to the shops, goods and services available and also in providing general directions. There are also security staff, cleaners and stall stands around the mall with people eager to help or provide a service if needed – which is always helpful.
Stores/Services: This mall has nothing short of an abundance of high quality shops and services available within it. I walked around on all floors and I found so many stores and services that I wasn’t even aware of before. Not only that, but there are new stores and stands that get cycled in depending on the current season, so there’s always something new if you keep a look out, or ask the customer help desk as I mentioned previously.
With that being said, the shops and services available within this store are all really good and high quality and a must see for anyone that hasn’t been to Westfield yet. I don’t know if it’s even possible for something you want to not be found here.
Queues: The queues for the shops and services generally depend on the times in which you are visiting the mall. The thing is, Westfield is generally busy even during the weekdays, but it’s especially busy during weekends. This is most evident in the queue sizes for changing rooms and the vast amounts of people present within the mall, especially during the weekends.
Hygiene: The place is clean from the ground floor to the top. The standards of hygiene throughout the entire mall are really outstanding - even the toilets are well looked after.
Atmosphere: I love this place. It looks beautiful, it’s well looked after, its clean, it has nice shops, customer service, it’s really pleasant. The only downside to it all really is that it tends to get really busy during the peak hours. The weekends are different because that’s when it’s REALLY busy from 11am until closing time. That and it can get suffocating hot during the summer peak times because of all the people and the heat.
Summary: This place really is the bees knees when it comes to shopping. Everything is here under one roof and all very nicely spread out and well presented. This is the best shopping centre I’ve been to especially when I compare it to other shopping centres in other cities. Overall, this is hands down the place to be if you’re looking to go out shopping – there really are no other alternatives in terms of shops that can offer you what’s provided...
Read moreStratford Westfield is one of those places where you leave feeling… conflicted. On one hand, it’s massive and has pretty much every shop you could need under one roof. On the other hand, the experience itself can be a bit of a headache, and depending on when you go, it’s either a productive day out or an overwhelming battle with crowds.
Let’s start with the positives: the range of shops is impressive. You’ve got everything from high-street favorites like Zara and H&M to luxury brands for those splurge moments. The sheer size of Westfield means you’re unlikely to leave empty-handed—it’s hard not to find what you’re looking for here. Plus, there’s a decent selection of restaurants, whether you want a quick bite or a sit-down meal. The food court is pretty varied, with options that suit most tastes, and the cinema upstairs is a nice touch for those who want to combine shopping with a bit of entertainment.
However, the sheer size is also part of the problem. It’s huge. Almost too huge. Navigating the place can be confusing, and it’s easy to get disoriented or end up walking in circles, especially if you’re not familiar with the layout. The maps help, but by the time you’ve figured out where you need to go, you’ve walked what feels like a marathon. Your feet will definitely feel it by the end of the day.
The biggest issue, though, is the crowds. Westfield is always busy. I don’t think I’ve ever visited when it wasn’t packed with people. Weekends, especially, are a chaotic mess. Trying to browse in peace is nearly impossible when you’re constantly bumping into people or stuck behind slow-moving crowds. Don’t even get me started on the queues—whether it’s for the changing rooms, the tills, or just getting a coffee, you’ll need to be prepared for a bit of a wait.
Parking can also be a hassle. The car park is vast, but finding a spot during busy periods feels like a game of chance. And once you’re parked, good luck remembering where your car is! The signage could be better, and it’s easy to lose track of which section you’re in.
Stratford itself can be a bit overwhelming too. The station is right next to Westfield, which is great for transport links, but it also means the area is constantly buzzing with people rushing in and out. Add in the construction work that seems never-ending, and it’s not exactly a peaceful part of London.
In short, Stratford Westfield is fine for a shopping spree if you’re prepared for the crowds and don’t mind a bit of chaos. It’s convenient, has a lot to offer, but it can be exhausting and a little too hectic for a relaxing day out. Worth a visit if you need something specific, but I wouldn’t rush back too often unless you love the...
