Lovely walks along the common and the River Teme in Ludlow. There's a beautiful view near Dinham Bridge of the river and Ludlow Castle. It's possible to make a 30 minute circular from the common, walk along the river, cross the river at Ludford Bridge and head up to Broad Street past the Wheatsheaf Inn. At the top of Broad Street, turn left at Butter Cross onto the High Street, past Castle Square and down Dinham to Dinham Bridge to return back to Whitcliffe Common. Along the way you'll pass classic English countryside, outstanding historic buildings and have the option of stopping for a coffee or visiting the Castle.

One of my favourite walks in Ludlow. I normally park beside one bridge and walk along the river to the other. It’s usually peaceful and I often spot birds and other wildlife. Then up the hill for a beautiful the walk back and stunning views over Ludlow and the countryside beyond. Any time of year there is plenty to see.

Lovely views of Ludlow from the common. Great place to walk the dog. Not a lot of parking spaces but if you don't mind walking there are pay and display car parks not too far away and reasonable rates. (£1:00) for the day.

What a pleasant hidden gem, now we were taking the kids out for a general drive to explore (during Covid-19) and decided to park up on the side of the road (where parking area was available) near the sharp bend, looked at the path and thought "ok we have room to move over if we meet people" and so we went to explore, well we loved it lots of passing places only saw 3 / 4 lots of people and made it to the bridge, this is now a favourite place of our kids :) the walking was pretty cool as well as seeing the castle and river with no...

We visit here quite often, sometimes to walk across the common and down through the woods to the river.

On other occasions we visit late afternoon, early evening, sit on one of the benches with fish, chips and a glass of fizz... Delight at the sun bids its farewell to the day casting beautiful light over Ludlow. The castle ruins and St Lawrence's Church, the town a joy to behold. Somewhere we visit to simply relax and enjoy.

Perfect for a family...
