Very nice area to walk through. There are plenty of dog walkers. I have seen people flying kites, as well as playing Frisbee.
There are good views of the Town Centre skyline, as well as of Hemdean Road and Caversham. There is a path that leads from Balmore Park Surgery, and you can either take the stairs adjacent an allotment or make your way up the steep incline via the well-worn trails underfoot.
There are some beautiful trees and a lovely wooded section to walk through on your way from Caversham to Emmer Green. It can get very slippery after it's rained, though, so please do bear that in mind.
As you climb the hill, which runs roughly parallel to Rotherfield Way, there is another wooded section, and walking under the canopy of trees is quite lovely. The path takes you down some steps and out between houses onto the main road.
There are benches to sit on at various points, and it's altogether a very pleasant area to spend time in. There are a set of steps reasonably close to Caversham Primary School, which also lead up to the site.
Balmore Walk can clearly be seen from Hemdean Road as you drive along it, near to Caversham Centre. However, for much of its area, it's hidden. Sort of like a large secret garden. It's lovely. An oasis of calm. An idyll....
